Well there you have it.

Seriously -- from what I understand, you shouldn't even think of seeing your abs until you are down around 8-10% body fat. If you want to see that washboard, you've got to worry much more about your nutrition that your exercises (though those are still important).

What's your diet like? Post a sample day or two of everything you eat, and I'm sure we can help you out with it.

It all starts and ends with the diet. You can eat a lot but it depends of what you eat. You can eat junk food from time to time but dont make it a habit. Eat healthy food like rice, chicken, steak (but not too much steak), vegetables, fruits, etc. Stick to eating 2-3 hours, watch your fat intake and exercise. Increase your mobile activity, dont sit around.

Dang it.. I gotta quit this late night gaming then.

I agree with this thread.. use resistance to make your abs larger and stronger but that last part about them showing is all diet. Stinks but it's true.

Eat and supplement the same on a non-training day as you would a training day. No changes are necessary.

That flab around the stomach can only be removed with proper diet and cardio. Most people will find it challenging to get down to the 6-8% where it really shows. I'm nowhere near that. Not fat at all.. but I know what you mean.

It's probably the most difficult thing I've done in this whole fitness quest. Figuring out this whole nutrition and cardio deal.

Alright I think this is a rather valid question. The body is a tool of percision, yes? Advanced machine... So when you are eating 5-6 meals a day, does it matter if you are late getting food?

Hit me back with some answers!

Yes. The reason you eat 5-6 meals a day is to keep the body burning food.. foods that are thermogenic and require calories to burn.

If you stop eating and skip meals, your metabolism slows. You don't have to literally starve for your body to go into it's version of the starvation mode.

You should be eating every 2-3 hours. That's about the threshold. And by eating it's a protein/carb kinda meal.. not just protein.. not just carbs.

ok, so what happens for people like me who only get one break during the day at work to eat....I work in retail....breaks are a luxury and rarely happen. THe only breaks I get are my 30 minute lunch break.. I do better once I'm home, but I go almost 5 hours in the morning without eating anything and then almost 3 hours before I come home. I tried the protein bar thing and I got told that I can't eat while i'm on the sales floor. I know I won't get optimal nuitrition, but as long as I am making progress, this is ok, right?

Take a flask with protien shakes inside with you. Drink the amount needed as a meal replacement! That's ok because you are eating other solid foods, so your digestive muscles won't go weak. It's just important you get those carb's protiens and anything else you need.

I posted homemade protien shake recipes on my Bodybuilding Link's thread, try those out: Bodybuilding Links

I know a big part of your problem. Have you had your cholesterol checked anytime recently? You are eating way to much cholesterol, and I am just talking about breakfast! Nobody, I mean nobody, should be eating 3-4 eggs with yolks every single morning.

One egg with yolk per day already puts you very close to your recommended daily intake of cholesterol. You are consuming 3 times your recommended amount every single day, only considering breakfast!

Super, super idea for you. This is what I do too: Get the yolks out of there. 99% of the cholesterol in the eggs is in the yolks. Egg whites are one of the best sources of protein out there, also very cheap. Just boil the eggs and separate the egg yolks out of there. You can still add pepper or a tiny bit of salt. Takes a couple of days to get used to, but it tastes just as good from then on. You may find you need to eat 5 egg whites to equal the amount of calories you were getting before, but it is worth it because it is a much higher quality diet than before.

You should get your cholesterol checked; I bet it is through the roof! Just doing this trick will probably drop your cholesterol 25 points. Nobody can get super chiseled abs with poor cholesterol numbers.

Dump that Zone bar... sugar sugar sugar (Sugar, Corn Syrup, Fructose)

And I gotta agree, it's 100% diet... best 6 pack I ever had I hadn't done ANY ab exercises for at least 6 month prior, just dialed in my diet and they where there.

Don't guess, find out EXACTLY how much you are eating. Everything that goes in your mouth, solid or liquid, track with something like fitday.com (it's free) Or even a pen and paper.

I work in retail too and I must agree that it is really hard to eat healthy. I only work 5 hours a day so I dont even get a 30 min lunch. I do get a 15 min break, and scarf a sandwhich and piece of fruit down whihc usually holds me till I get home.

On longer days or days that I want to take my lunch later, I take a granola bar, or some toasty peanut butter and crackers in my pocket. Were not supposed to eat anything on the sales floor either, but I've talked to my manager and he understands what I'm trying to do.

Take something with you that you can eat in a few minutes and take a bathroom break and eat it in the bathroom if you have to.

I do know that if you work less than 6 hours a day you get a 15 min break, and if you work 6 hours or more a day you get a 15 min break and a 30 min lunch. Now thas law in MI,so I'm not sure if it hold up where you are but its something to look into.
