faster for football - Monday, May 19, 2008 1:58 PM ( #1 )
ok well this might be kindof hard to explain not sure why but it might.i used to be bigger when i was 9-11 not like fat but a bit chubby and i had a thick build and now im low body fat (7% when i checked like a week ago) and weigh 110 lb. so i used to play TE and MLB but im to small to play TE well not really at the middle school level just because there are alot of bad DE's but in highschool i will be.But i am going to try and keep playing MLB and move out to WR but my 40 time is 5.8 and i would need around a 5.3-5.5 to be a average-above average speed wide receiver and needed to get some speed training advice for the summer.so basicly what can get my forty-time down .3-.5 seconds?

You run a 5.8 40? How tall are you? Also, where do you live where the AVG is 5.3 - 5.5 for a WR? I guess what they say is true, FL football is faster, I grew up/played here and as an offensive lineman I ran a 4.9. I guess if I moved where you live I could play receiver.

north carolina and btw there is no way you played lineman with a 4.9 40 in middle school, you must have really sucked at running and catching (no offense).

False. Its like anything else, everyone has a potiential. Everyones level is different, but I promise you that 99.5% of the population does nothing to realize that potiential. So have elite WR's and CB's trained to their max potiential? Probably. Its true everyone has a limit, but the limit is probably a lot faster than most realize.

Thought he was in high school. 4.9 is slow, I am sorry man, in high school all of our hands people ran 4.4 - 4.7, freshman year I played SAM Linebacker, then Soph and up, I was pulling guard. I was wide framed and big.

i know i meant if you had a 4.9 in middle school..but around here as long as your sub 4.8 ish in HS and you have some skills you can play RB but most of the fast as hell guys aren't even that good tbh.
