okay so i am 5'11.. i weighed almost 200 lbs.. possibly more.. went down to about 160ish and back up to 170ish (without increasing in %BF).. however i dont EXACTLY know my BF but i assume it is in the bounds of 8-12%... another friend of mine is in a very similiar situation. according to him the reason our abs arent showing very well yet is because of the "extra skin". sounds like it could be right and i was wondering if this was true or if i probably need better abs / lose more BF .. to give u guys an idea this is me Before i started working out (summer time, i couldnt really find anything better than that haha) http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j254/Vorguen/gonzscannon.jpg?t=1166170373 This is me about 1 month ago (i have made gains since then, nothing too spectacular though http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j254/Vorguen/gonz24238801.jpg?t=1166170270

to give an idea.... my ab workout today consisted of 2 sets of leg raises (raising my knees with weight) (if thats what theyre called) i picked up a 45 lb dumbbell with my feet and did about 13-15 reps. 2 sets of leg raises with my workout partner throwing my legs down as hard as he could. 4 sets of each oblique.. grabbed a 65 lb dumbbell and did side crunches (standing up) with one hand hanging holding the dumbbell and the other hand on the back of my head (god knows what the names of these workouts are lol). 4 sets of regular crunches, weighted .. 8-12 reps each I workout abs anywhere from 2 to 3 times a week.. and i vary workouts every once in a while and i never do like 5 million reps for abs either.. and always rest at least 2 days between ab workouts usually more

remember that abs are a muscle pretty much like any other one. u most likely need more than 2-3 days of rest. i would say atleast 4 days between

Short answer lower BF, cardio. From your pic, it doesn't look like you have too much skin floating around, nothing like my problem anyway. I think you just need to get a bit more fat off of you. It seems like your ab work is in line, and your pack is relient on your diet more than your crunches. This is a good article that one of the mods, Nic linked me to when I had a simular question http://www.naturalphysiques.com/cms/index.php?itemid=531 And just incase there is something more than what I could see in the pic, I personally really did have hanging pockets of skin where fat used to be and now that I'm in the last mile or so of weight loss, my skin is really going away and tightening up. So if you have little sacks (although it doesn't look like that to me), rest assured that if you get lean enough they should go away. FYI, my picture is very out of date, I am much leaner now.
