Hey Brian- First stop, diet. In order to lose weight, you need to be eating five or six small meals a day, making sure you're eating enough calories from the right sources- Believe it or not, trying to lose weight by eating very small amounts of food isn't the way to go- When the body doesn't get the calories it needs to function properly, it actually thinks it's getting starved, and as a result will try to hang on to as much fat as possible. Check out this thread for info on how to find out exactly how many calories per day your body needs in order to lose fat- Making that change alone will provide you with amazing results. No, it's not going to be easy- You basically have to make a serious lifestyle change in order to keep up with all those meals every day, making sure you're getting enough of the right types of protein, carbs and fats, etc- But it's well worth it. When it comes to losing fat, diet is the number one source of success. The second thing you should do is cardio- Raising your heart rate for extended periods of time in order to get your body to burn fat. Start out with whatever you can handle, even if it's only five minutes of slow jogging- You'll make leaps and bounds in the time and distance you can handle at first, don't get frustrated, just stick with it. Two or three times a week is fine, and you don't have to run marathons either- Thirty minutes each session would be a good goal to aim for over time. You should also seriously consider a weight training program, even though you mentioned your equipment being limited- What exactly do you have access to? Once we know what you're working with, we can provide more detailed info on what you can do. Welcome to DB by the way, hope you find what you need.

wow...maybe thats my problem for a few months now maybe 6 i have stopped eating breakfast and for my lucnch its a few crackers, carrots , grapes, and an orange. Right now my therapist doesnt want me to run but i pretty much have a full gym. I have a bike which i do for 20-30 mins a day and my target heart rate is 180-200. I have some free weights and not free weights. its not my weights that are limited its my knee thats limited, most running is out of the picture but i am going to shooot for 1 hour a day for execersie... 30 mins in the morning and 30 in the afternoon. I am just ashamed even towards my parents to tell them what i am doing

Hey Bri, Totally understandable what you are going through and not a source of shame. Wipe the slate clean and make the committment to a new you. It will take time, and there will most certainly be those who want to tear you down with their words. If you want to better yourself you never have anything to be ashamed of. Everyone here will be more than happy to help with any advice and encouragement we can give. At 16 you have plenty of time and I suspect that once you get your diet in order like cpl suggested you will notice dramatic changes within a few weeks. Just stick with it and realize that this is not a temporary diet, but a lifestyle change. I would actually lean more toward weight training than cardio, as I have seen more with my own two eyes from people that incorporate lifting. However, any type of exercise will be beneficial to increasing your metabolism and furnacing off that extra body fat. Stay focused and keep coming back to DB!

Hi Brian - Both CPL and Nav gave some good advice to go with. All I will add is that there is a Vin Diesel body in all of us and that it just takes a little patience and dedication to chisel it out. Keep focused on YOU and remember to celebrate the small victories that you make every day.
