eating natural peanut butter at night - Thursday, July 30, 2009 6:30 PM ( #1 )
i just had some vegetables with 2 tbsp of natural peanut butter. it has 16 g of fat in it, which is about 30% of my daily fat intake. i am on a cutting diet and i know the importance of not eating carbs past 6 pm (peanut butter is low on carbs- only 6 g) but is it bad to have that much fat at night or is that not really an issue?

No in fact p.butter is great to have before bed.

1.) its high in good fats, so dont worry about that.

2.) eating casein protein and fats before bed will fuel your body much better then anything else while you sleep and fast.

Not really. You want to keep your carbs intake low at night. NOT fat. Good fats allow your body to produce more hormone that you need to grow those muscles.

Weight loss and gain is still fundamentally about caloric surplus and deficit.  If you have consumed all your daily requirement of calories and then shovel even the healthiest foods in your mouth, you will gain weight.  Know your numbers and work within them.
I love PB btw.....
