cycling when cutting? - Sunday, April 27, 2008 8:43 AM ( #1 )
sorry if this is a repost, i dont see it anywhere but i thought i posted it.

hey oldnavy i was wondering, what do u think about calorie/carb cycling when cutting?

it's something ive always done but right now i've been cutting and i decided to see how it would work without cycling.  according to my waist measurements i've lost a little over 1/2in. and it says +1.8lb. LBM and -2lb. fat which is good
but my calipers are saying a lot worse than that, basically no change at all which is really aggravating.

anyway so whats ur opinion on cycling when ur cutting?

I started my cutting diet on February 1, weighing about 160 pounds.  Today I weigh around 145.  I have lost 15 pounds of weight and have kept most of the muscle.  I do a series of low carb days followed by a high carb day.  On the low days, I do about 75 grams of carbs in the first three meals only.  On the high days, I do about 130-150 grams of carbs a day over the first five meals.  I keep my protein constant, about 35 grams per meal.  I do three days of low and one day of high, then go back to three days of low, etc.

hm, sounds pretty similar to the plan i used to be on except i have 75g lower carbs on low carb days and about 160g less on high carb days.  I'm thinking about starting to cycle again seeing as how i've just kept a slight decrease these last 4 weeks.

a few more questions
1. how tall are u?
2. what bf% do u get down to by doing this?
3. how many calories are u eating a day?
4. whats ur cardio like? (i think ur training is already stated in other threads
5. how do u test your bf%?

thanks, and sorry for the interogation lol

btw congrats on getting to 160, i think last time we talked u said u peaked at 155 and wanted to hit 160 the next time.
