hi everyone, just looking for adivce or improvments to my strategy i was always a skinny guy, i started working out 2 years ago at age 27 weighing 147lbs at 6ft. since i've started though i've only focused on getting bigger. over the winter i'm proud to say i hit 211lbs. i decided it's time to trim some of the flab i picked up along the way and show off the muscles i worked so hard for. I'm not so worried about the nutrition end, as i've read so much about what to eat already. for excersice, i've started doing lighter weights with higer reps and shorter breaks between sets. at the end of each workout (4 times a week) i run balls to the wall on a treadmill for 30 minutes. a) will this help me cut without sacrifcing alot of muscle? b) i keep seeing people reccomend Hiit on this forum. Is this more effective than just running for 30 minutes consecutive? i acutally kind of enjoy the running, but i want to do whatever's more effective thanks Thanks

i wouldnt drop the weights you lift. to keep your muscles big, you need to keep hitting heavy weights. do you eat a lot of junk in your diet? try cutting that, too. as for your 30 mins on the treadmill, try mixing it up every now and again, say 5 mins at a 6mph and 2 mins at 10mph (or whatever you can manage) out of interest, at what would you estimate your bodyfat?
Bench Press Max - 170kg @ 100kg Squat Max - 220kg @100kg Deadlift Max - 275kg @100kg Weight - 90kg

The electronic impodance (if that's even close to how it's spelled) scales you mean? No, they're not real accurate. Best thing for a budget is to get measured with calipers. Most gyms can do it for a few bucks, if not free. The most accurate thing, though, is the dunk tank, but it's usually pretty expensive.

It's all already been said by the others, but in summary: - Clean diet - Caloric deficit - Lift the same as you were bulking (hard and heavy) - Cardio helps too

You sound almost exactly like me. Started out real skinny. 160 bulked up to 215 then cut down to just below 7% bf. Keep your weights heavy reps low, try to gain strength while your cutting itll keep you motivated to lift hard and help you out when you go back to bulking. Workout like your life depends on it. When you go in the gym get fired up and lift hard and fast. On the diet end, ive always used ultra low carbs and keto diets when cutting and it has worked extremely well. Do HIIT cardio. It is simply the best cardio in terms of fat burning and muscle sparing. If you start losing strength while your cutting, youre probably dieting too hard. Dont restrict yourself too much.
working on explosive phase vertical: 35 weight: 206 Big 3: 300/440/515 Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle.
