I've been takin creatine for about 2-3 months and I was thinking about stop taking it. Its helped me with the extra boost I need but I would like to try something else to put more mass in my muscles. Would stop taking creatine make me look smaller because doesn't creatine put water into your muscles? Then what if I converted to taking a whey protein such as Nitro-tech..good idea?

you should be taking both creatine and protien. protien allows your muscle to rebuild after you tear them down from working out, where as creatine allows your muscle to volumize.

Youve been taking 2-3 months straight??!?! Yes you should cycle off for atleast 2 weeks. You will get smaller because it retains water and you might notice you cant lift as much but dont lose faith.. You need to be taking protein (i prefer whey) if your lifting seriously. 1 - 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Try doing some reasearch on MRI's new CE2 thats coming out hopefully in august, with that you wont (supposably) get the bloated look and wont need to cycle off.. can I ask what brand of creatine are u taking. Alot of cheap creatine comes from china, its crap dont waste you money you want german creatine.. I take American Stamina which has alot of great stuff in it.. sry for rambling... if ur going to continue creatine get CE2 when it comes out! also cycle off of the mono for two weeks then you should get some quality creatine with a transport system.

It is not necessary to cycle creatine however some people feel you get better results if you cycle, but i find no difference if i cycle or not.

Yes fluid retention will go back to normal but i find that i dont lose strength when im not using creatine.

Just whey? what about nighttime/sleep protein? Whey? Afraid not, a Casein a great choice for nighttime. It depends on the protein and how it is used best. After a workout, Whey. digestion time is 30mins to 2 hours. Egg is another good choice but it is slower to digest than whey. But you grow when you rest and a long burning casein (up to 7 hours) this is best.

I am about to start taking TRAC by MHP again after a bad experience w/ GNC's version of CellTech. TRAC is the best product I've come across so far. I am trying to wait for the crappy old creatine to get out of my system before I start w/ the new stuff, but it seems that some people don't believe it's necessary to cycle off. Does anybody know for sure and have some evidence that it's not necessary to cycle off?

I've done some reading on the stuff and some doctors say it's extremely bad for your liver. Anyone familiar with this claim? I've taken it before, and I've gotten good weight gains and strength gains, but I've stopped taking it and I noticed that I lost about half of the weight I gained but kept the strength, so it seems pretty rowdy to me! So does anyone know about any detramental side effects to your liver? I know you're supposed to drink alot of water to avoid liver damage, but does it still mess it up?

Thanks.

Near head of that claim before. Nor have I see any real studies, case histories, or anything credible to say creatine is damaging. FYI, creatine is produced naturally by the body at around 2g a day. And it is found in red meats.

The weight you lost is water weight from cell volumization. But the muslce you gain is yours to keep. I don't get weaker either but I do lose a couple of pounds due to water not being retained.

You should drink a lot of water while on creatine. A lot meaning --> 1 gallon a day.

Besides, it keeps you hydrated anyway and keeps things moving. So if you are bodybuilding, you should be drinking that regardless of creatine or not.
