A 15 year-old athlete does not need creatine.  Creatine is a supplement.  You don't need supplements.  You need to eat right, exercise hard and grow big, by doing plain old hard work.

Trust me, your young body is producing everything you need, without supplementation.

I didn't say it was bad for teens.  I just don't think you need it.  Your body produces enough creatine and glutamine and other building blocks that you don't need any extra supplements at 15.

Actually Marc said...

While there's not any scientific research to conclusively prove that creatine and teenager is harmful whatsoever, it's my belief that while you are under 18 and still growing, there's no reason to take any sports supplements unless you can answer true to all of the above questions and are responsible enough to follow directions per the supplement and be mature enough to quit if you experience any creatine side effects that you feel are negative.

Jason.  Marc and I are not ganging up on you.  We just want to give you good advice.  A young athlete like you just needs to eat right and pound the weights the correct way.  You have enough growing stuff in you to add as much muscle as you want.  Guys my age need supplements, because we have lost a lot of our growth potential due to age.  I take creatine, glutamine, amino acids, protein powder and multi-vitamines.  That's all.  And, I eat clean.  Lots of fish, chicken, vegetables, lean beef, and salad.  No junk food and never any gear.  Not cool.

What about when you`re 28? I don`t take glutamine right now but I`m really thinking about it.

L Glutamine is great.  I suggest the following:

one cup of 100% liquid egg whites, one scoop of creatine, one scoop of glutamine, one scoop protein powder, 8 oz water, in a blender or shaker.  Mix this and you will have a great smoothie.  Do it before and again after your workout.  Before, gives you good gym strength and stamina and after aids in recovery.

You are right, you don't need Creatine at 16.  Your body produces enough for your needs.

If you purchase 100% liquid egg whites, not egg beaters, but 100% liquid egg whites, it's easier to use, you can mix it with protein powder and water for a great smoothie and you don't have to fuss with seperating yokes from the whites.  I have used liquid egg whites for more than four years with no problems.  They are 100% safe.
