Hi, I have some cellulite but otherwise I look great for a 45 year old woman!. I am thinking of competing in a small local competition for my age group. How can I get rid of the cellulite. Also, would like to know routines that work glutes more. Thank you in advance for your support. Gillie

The bad thing about cellulite is that it is genetic. Getting rid of it totally can be unachievable. I'm at 10% and still have some on my thighs. (I'm 37) The best thing we can do is manage it. Drink lots of water, good diet to reduce body fat (sorry you can't "spot" reduce) to shrink those fat cells....because they never go away, they just swell/shrink in size. Cellulite creams and lotions don't work real well. I've been using Neutrogena's Goodbye Cellulite just to see if it does help. It has help to tighten up the skin which reduces the appearance of cellulite. But again, once you stop using the product, the tone will go away. Creams will never make cellulite go away. A good glute exercise could be Step up's, lunges and squats. My personal favorite (b/c everybody reacts differently to stimulus) is dead lifts, and Jam'n squats. Jam'n is a brand named, free weight equipment. Hack squats would be a good piece of equipment to use if you don't know or have Jam'n available to use.
I will never be done learning.... ACSM cert. Personal Trainer Long term goal: Maintain 13% Currently: 9.5%
