Well, id still say that was over training, you should get all the rest you can that night, because you want to heal from the morning.

Your muscle doesnt grow in the gym.  If it did, I'd be in there 24/7.  Sleep and nutrition is the key to muscle growth.  Weight training stimulates it.

Rest is what makes the muscle grows so if u take away the rest time that means ur muscles wont grow as much. Working out just gives ur muscles the tension it needs to get bigger then during the rest ur muscles will expand to get bigger and harder so if u cut down on the rest and add more to the tension that means ur muscles will get over exhausted and actually get weaker.

yeah i belive thats over training unless your not working out hard enough when you do.  my firend works out every day for like 3 hours a day.  he says he has some excercise disorder where he pushes himself too far.  i and everyone else thinks hes on roids cause hes gaining very fast in weekly periods and has acne all over which i've heard is a result from roids.  He can bench almost 300.  hes 5 foot 6.  and hes only 16....

The only time I would suggest an AM and PM session is for legs.

Quads in the AM.

Hams and claves in the PM.

I've seen others do biceps in one session and triceps in another.  I guess that's fine if you have the time.

What I would NOT recommend is hitting the same body part more then once per day (chest in the AM and chest again in the PM that kinda thing).

If you have the time.  Otherwise, you should be able to hit a body part once a week, in under 60 minutes workout time, and make significant gains.
