cable flys - Tuesday, August 19, 2008 7:01 AM
really a two part question. I've been hitting chest qute hard and seeing results however my lower pecs seem to be lagging behind. My routine is usually db bench 4 sets of 8-10 reps, start with 65dbs, 75, 85 and finish with 100lb dbs....form is good, i make sure i squeeze at the top...next is incline press same routine, rep range, little lighter weights, then its dips(bodyweight only) 4sets of 8-10 reps, and finish off with cableflys.. I was told for lower pecs with cable flys to stand as upright as possible and bring down in front instead of out in front of me and this should isolate the lower pecs....i avoid decline becasue most on here say its a waste...other than above what can I do to hit the lower pecs???also with flys should i be feeling it in my biceps. I go light weight and bring together and hold for the burn. elbows remain up and out so not sure why biceps are feeling it so much?

advice!!!!!!!

Cable flys are great !

1- For your lower chest, dips and decline are the best way to build some muscle, but don't forget your chest had a "preformed" shape. I mean some people won't have big lower chest.

2- If you feel the flys in your biceps, you might not have the right form or you are using so much weight you need to lock biceps in order to fly the weight. Don't overweight, and make sure to have the great form when doind this one.

I must be a genetic freak or something because my upper chest, lower chest, inner chest, outer chest, and all other regions of my chest are built up quite nicely, and the only "chest exercise" I do is flat bench.
