in the past i' ve broken 3 fingers or sprained them extremely bad. on my right had my pinky from basketball and my left pinky and pointer. my right had is ok but my left hand grip really sucks. when i bench i keep my hand open cause if i close it it hurts. and when i do barbel shrugs i get no grip so i ahve to use low weight. i went to the doctor once and he gave me some kind of a shot that made the swelling go down, but then it came back. did anyone here every jam their fingers real bad? if so how did u cure it? its been like 3-4 years since the first finger injury and there is still a swelling. is this ever going to be curable?? i think when i get older im gonna ahve super arthritis. thanks guys

When I was in the army, they used to say " Pain is weakness leaving the body." Bullcrap. Pain is your body telling you something' s wrong- I hate to say it, but the only thing I can say is consult a doc- Maybe get a second opinion, and since lifting seems important to you, maybe check with a few docs- Perhaps one of them can point you in the right direction. Any advice I might be able to think of isn' t at all backed up by any knowledge of medicine- Has anyone suggested any form of physical therapy? Hand grips to increase finger strength? Have you talked to your doc about the problem? What did they say? Sure, using straps will eliminate your grip strength, but if the condition is eliminating that anyway, then you might as well use them to improve all the other muscles- Unless your doc advises against that too. Hope this helps.
