broken calisces - Monday, December 19, 2005 8:39 AM ( #1 )
I got some calsices that broke open last wednesday...I would like to DL again this wednesday so that I cankeep my strength goin...then after that I'm gonna take a week break. So what Im asking is that should I deadlift and risk tearing them open again or take a DL break and just do back?

He he he... Iron bites back, don't it?

Are you using gloves? How bad are we talking here?

You could wear gloves next time. I also noticed that most of the damage to the callouses is when you use an underhand grip, so if you deadlift with one overhand and one underhand you can alternate so that less stress is put on them.

yikes, we got those in gymnastics on the uneven bars............but we got no breaks from our coach, ripped or not, you had to keep practice and yes it makes it worse.
We did soaking and powders but the rest is a good idea although it may happen again so the gloves or straps may be an option!

These aren't really that bad. BUt there enough for the skin underneath the skin ontop to show (dont ask).  Right now tehy seem okay. So as of now I'm just gonna go ahead and pull again. I really dont mind if they keep breaking open as long as they heal before each meet. I just really ike DLing. Besides after this wednesday i'm takin a week break so they'll proly heal......but any suggestions on what heals them the fastest would help
