Yeah are there any people that could deadlift more with a straight bar then a hex bar. When we go back to school wednesday if we lift ill max with a straight bar then post that in my stats instead of the one with the hex bar.
To fear death is worse then death its self. Bench:210 Squat:285 Deadlift:385 Cleans:220 weight:140

LOL, how can you hate the deadlift if you're pulling 500 pounds? At 165-170? Are those lunar pounds?

I know why you're so good at deadlifts. It's because you do cleans as well. Cleans significantly build more explosive pulling power off the floor which directly translates to a much stronger deadlift. As soon as my shoulders stop hurting, I will be doing power cleans as well. Great job though!

ORIGINAL: claytonhill ok so i think i figured out why my deadlifts where so high. Our school has always used the deadlift bars. So when i was looking at a deadlift program i found out the use the straight bar things for deadlifts. So i looked it up and its harder to deadlift with straight bars so from now on im going to use on of them. I will max with one of them when i go back to school and tell ya my max for that. ever find out what it really was?

ORIGINAL: claytonhill So im pretty excited not really but i broke the schools deadlift record at the 140 weight class. The old record was 365 and i deadlifted 385. I really want to get my deadlift to 400+ but damn i put on 10 more pounds to try 395 and damn it felt like so much more. nice man good job
