break through plateaus with PL - Sunday, August 29, 2004 8:52 PM ( #1 )
I am a strength chaser..I am always interested in growing stronger. In my Gym...I went after strength gains...conditioning....while some buddies went after body shaping...adding mass..definition...etc.....well after a couple of months...I was much stronger..had added mass and definition..lowered fat levels and my buddies still weren't satisfied with what they had done.....I thought it was rather laughable.
Now I have friends more along the body building lines focusing more on strength....personally I think bodybuilders should strive to be stronger thus getting more mass gains in the future ....ie Ronnie Coleman,Ruhl, and other dynamic and strong muscle men

I myself have always been interested in strength. I could not imagine looking stronger than I really am.

You know, I tried the bulking contest that we had on here, and I didn't gain more than 3 lbs. My squat went up 60 lbs and I lifting for mass, not strength. From now on, I'm just going to lift for strength.

Cycle the weight starting light and add weight every week over the course of 10-14 weeks.

Train with 5 reps or less.

Do train to failure except towards the end of a training cycle which is only about 10% of the time.
