I have currently had my bowflex for 2 years now and just finally got time to get serious about lifting. I know there is nothing like free weights but I was wondering what experienced lifters think of it. I was thinking that since you can have a full range of motion and you still have to use muscles for stabilizing like free weights it is pretty comparable. I hope to get some pictures posted soon so I can get an honest opinion.

I had a crossbow by weider for about 70 days. It was a decent machine, but stictly to be used for upper-body workouts since there was not enough weight to do legs.

It wasn't enough weight for me after about 60 days, which is a (small) reason why I returned it. The main reason for returning the item was the fact that the handles used started cracking and breaking a month in, and 2 months in they snapped while I was lifting and cut my hand pretty badly.

I have since joined a gym and my lifts are all up 20 pounds each minimum, and am reasonably happy with the results I got from the crossbar machine.

Good luck with the bowflex.
