I like DB Shrugs in the 10-12 rep range. I think they provide a better range of motion than babrells, and they just feel more natural for me. If I do upright rows my traps come out big time, but they hurt my shoulder sometimes so I avoid them. Also, heavy Deadlifts work wonders as well...

I do 3 sets of barbell and dumbell shrugs each with about 12 reps per set. I need bigger traps and these seem to work them the best for me.

I've always liked barbell shrugs, 3 sets, 4 to 6 reps. It's the heavier weight that works for me- Best advice, do both dumbbell and barbell shrugs in your workout, pick a rep range and stick with it for three or four months- See how you like it. Then switch up if you want- If you try high rep range first, switch to a low rep range with more weight and see what works best for you.

i love going real heavy with a trap bar to 4 reps. but im limited to how heavy i can go because of my grip. me needs some straps or hooks. i do them behind the body and in front.
