Hey Pennsylvania Jock, Although I feel that smaller players can be very valuable to the defense if they are fast and have good strength, it is extremely hard to get around a bigger player. There are guys who weigh 300lbs that are probably faster than you. A big guy with good feet and skill will beat the smaller player any time. If you feel there should only be smaller players, you haven't tried to play offense recently. The big guys definately have their place.

Well, I porbably wont get many believers out of this either, but, theres a 20 year old samoan guy at my gym who is around 200 pounds and 5'9, hes SOLID, plays highschool football still. I have honest to god on the BIBLE seen this guy do 30 reps at 225, touching his chest and all, the first 15 or so were done so ****ing fast it was ridiculous, seriously under 25 seconds. I have also seen him benching over 400 pounds though too. I'm 185 right now, and can bench it 3 times, he made me feel so damn weak!!

hes 20 and plays high school ball still, obvioulsy not the smartest guy in the world. I saw Brian Siders do 315 35 times like it was cake...prolly gcoulda gone 45 at 315...I was also thinking possibly 50ish at 225. I also heard that Arnold when he was at his peak he used to do sets of 60 with 225 for 5 sets with less then a minute break between sets...DANG

PennsylvaniaJock: They do it at my school, too. While we're on the subject of football, there was a kid in my state who weighs about 320lbs and is like 6'6". He just got a scholarship for college football. He went to a combine and they posted some of his stats for the events in the paper. He benched 185lbs 24 times. My dad was really impressed, but I'm not. I mean, he weighs over 300lbs, and can only push it up that many times? I tried benching that same percentage of my weight (which is 57%, approximately 95lbs), and I got it up 37 times. So, since I play football, I should not only have a scholarship for college, but I should have NFL coaches lookin' at me now. Those combines are a bunch of crap _____________________________ Age: 16 Height: 6'2" Weight: 165 Bench: 205 dude that is complete b.s. that u put up 185 37 times and u only bench 205 as ur max....

not when he did 315 for 30, he does in comp...but when he did 315 for 30 it was RAW. Everyone pretty much uses bench shirts and squat suits.

I'm 35 and I have done 225 41 times I think when I was a JR in High School they tested us once and I did it like 25-30 times. My freshman year I could do it once or twice.

We never did tests liek that in highschool atleast during the season. I only played a year but lifted w/ the team b/c we all grew up together. During the season the coach was jsut hopin we all mainted strength and we lifted appropriatly. We obviously did squat, clean, and bench maxes but never during the season. The strongest bench to ever go through our highschool was 475 I believe this kid was big not huge and played football @ Brown, smart cookie as well.

I'm 16 years old and attend Waunakee High School in Wisconsin. I'm 6'1, 255, I bench 390, Squat 515, Power Clean 295 and dead lift roughly 540. These weights are all calculated based off Notre Dame's weight lifting system of five repitions. I recently attended a football combine and pulled off 26 reps of 225, and a 4.89 40 yard dash.

I dont suppose a kid asking for a good routine knows how to workout, meaning where did he get all that firepower plus the fact that I, MYSELF going to a highschool packed with JUICERS that are at least 6 times the size of me, have never met a kid that can bench 225lbs 22 times. Im supposing your not a JUICER too. plus your not even a senior yet! my school is like the ones in the movies, you wouldnt believe the # juicers in my school, this, for some reason doesnt allow me to believe you. then again, i could be wrong, I really dont care, Im not jealous, but your the first I have ever seen other then all the kids like you on websites. What school do you go to? What state? peace

what high school tries to make guys do 225 anyway? it's not a nfl combine. most high schools go w/ 185. and considering the kid isn't around anymore, i'm going to go w/ that he was fibbing. 22 times is really really good.

forget steroids dude. Steroids are for people who want to take the easy way out, get strong and not work hard. Not to mention, my stats compared to other people's are actually legit with proof behind them that can easily be looked up at any time. Plus, college football coaches can find out real ****ing quick if you are full of ****, that is why I have no reason to lie.

people r under the impression that steroids allow u to get big and strong withour working hard. There wrong u have to work twice as hard when ur on them. I know this guy in my weight roomwho when I walk in the door is sweatty and training hard, then 3 hours later when I leave he is still lifting. And I kno for a fact hes on juice. Basically when u r juicing need to work really hard in order to keep the juice flowing.

hmmmmmmm i find it hard to believe that the people that say they can do 225 like 25 times actually can!, and yes call me jelous cus i am lol but i no lots of lads up to the age of 20, and ive never seen one bench 225 more than 13 times, and the lad that saw do this is 20 years old, and is a juicer, and is amazingly strong can deadlift 550 plus and squat like 500. maybe im wrong. perhaps you americians are made of somthing stronger than us brits. perhaps you lads with the amazing benchs could post videos of urself benching these weights. would be interesting to see how many of you do

ORIGINAL: grantoiz perhaps you americians are made of somthing stronger than us brits. you said it, not us. anyway, my buddy was maxing at 375 at the beginning of the summer. we had 225 on the bar (it was my last set) and i struggled to get it 8 times. he got under there and did it 15 with ease and then put it up. i know he could have done more.
