begging to cut
-

( #1 )
Hey all, I've finally decided to start an official cutting cycle rather than just the half assed approach I've taken to working out for the past year or so. I just got my own apartment and can now watch my diet better since we used to split cooking duties and one of my roommates was in love with hamburger helper... Here are a few starting pictures for ya'll. I am about 6' tall and weigh 150 lbs on a good day. Fire away and let me know where you think needs more work. What Jon said. Get on a good clean diet, but make sure you are eating plenty, working out hard, and put some muscle on that frame. You are plenty lean as it is and are at a good point to start bulking.
Age: 26 Height: 5'10 Weight as of 8/31/08: 160lbs. Current weight: 180lbs. Semi-Clean Bulkin! Current Maxes as of 6/4/08: Squat: 250lbs. Deadlift: 255lbs. Bench: 285lbs.

wow.. seriously? you have barely ANY chub at all. you're just used to seeing your abs ALL the time. you can't get big unless you put on some excess weight. if you eat clean, and are dedicated to lifting.. your body will disperse the weight all over. YES... .some of it will be on the tummy, but lots of it will be everywhere else. you gotta pay to play the game

I think you'll be surprised at how skinny you'll look if you cut (and not in an attractive way). I am with everyone else in the mind that you should be bulking. Since you are fairly new (to good diet at least) you should be able to maintain your current bodyfay or possibly lose a little while gaining muscle. In my opinion you should clean bulk for at least a year and try to get to 170-180lbs.

I've been working out regularly for the past 2 years and have attempted to bulk but definitely haven't been eating as much as I should. I was only planning on cutting for the summer for obvious reasons and then continuing to bulk on a more serious level starting in mid August.

i dont think thats a good idea, as bobbi said you will look malnourished, IMO you would look 1321413 times better at 160-165 with 12% rather than 140 and 6% bodyfat

That might be wrong, and please, someone correct me if it is. that's just the way i think of it.

Looking malnourished on the beach will most likely not be considered attractive by the ladies. lol... Have fun eating. :)

I agree with everone else. You're already skinny as hell just lift and eat like a beast and you'll look a million times better. Then after you gain 30 or 40 pounds then cut the fat. Just not right now.

Boomer, my thoughts exactly. Everyone calls it the bulking phase, but I call it the stength phase, and think of this as the off-season. You get bigger and stronger for whatever sport you may play to prepare yourself for the upcoming season. Then, 6-10 months down the road the regular season starts up(Cutting) and you gotta strip down to physical perfection or atleast close to it. Then, if there's time; the post-season where you perfect all the little things that were missed. Then the off season begins at the end of summer, and boom the cycle begins yet again.

but you dude, clean bulk. No girl likes an emaciated white guy. They like thin, semi-built ones. But, if you can pull of a small waist line and built upper body, and lacrosse player legs, you'll be in good shape...you'll be a pearljammer.
