You are definitely stronger than me...in every category except one.  I clean your clock in Pulls Ups.  LOL

I can do five sets of 10 with 30 seconds rest between sets or one set of 25 full Pull Ups, non-stop.

My body weight is 160 pounds and I am 5' 5.65"    I am 63 years-old.

My Personal best lift was accomplisihed last week:

Squats - January 2, 2007
6 x 6 - Free Standing - I did 295 pounds

1 x 30 - Free Standing - I did 225 pounds

Wait a minute...I squated 135 pounds more than my body weight and you only squated 40 pounds more than yours. hmmmmmmm.   LOL

Anyway, great lifts, Man.  You are an animal.  Strong!

Looks like some pretty good numbers. I am stronger than you, but I am also 3 years older. I would work on your pullups and bench. What is your bodyfat? This might be one reason why your pullups or so low, or because you have to pull more weight than most people. I have redicusuly long arms I can only 12, so I'm not that great either.

Yeah...I was pulling your leg a bit about the pull ups.  It's easier when you weigh less.  At my last contest, I weighed 141 pounds and could rip off pull ups all day.  Now that I have added 20 pounds of off-season body weight, the pull ups are not as easy.  And with your weight and baseball22's, you huge guys will always have a problem doing a lot of pull ups.  You have a lot of dead weight to lift.

Great Work, Man.  You too, Baseball22

strong pull ups for arm length an weight! owned me there! what are your other lifts baseball? how long have you been lifting? have you used gear?

Ive just started doing pull ups recently, done them 3 times now, i finding them a lot harder than chin ups an i seem to use mainly biceps instead of back as they are sore each time an my lats are not

close grip bench i have again just started doing recently, not a good lift for me but hoping to change that - hopefully 300lbs by the end of the year

edit - bodyfat is 12%

Thats very impressive, i knew youd be strong obviously but i didnt know you were that strong, i never knew you was interested in strength much.

Yes I did.  It was part of my just completed Widow Maker Power Workout that I have been keeping a journal about on this site.

I'm not in any sense a power lifter.  But, I have been doing some incredible workouts the past few months, that require a lot of 4-6 reps of heavy lifting.  I have grown stronger, but my goal is not strength as much as it is size for bodybuilding.  I weighed around 135 pounds my first year of bodybuilding.  My second year of competition had me at around 140 pounds all season.  As I prepare to enter my first Pro Master competition next September, my goal is to step on to the stage at between 150 and 155.  No easy task, but the heavy lifting I'm doing is sure helping.  I weigh 160 now and I'm using my added weight to work harder in the gym.  I'm looking for it to pay of in September.

Since strength is massively important to me, im wondering how many here are all around stronger than i am? i want to know how im doing so far - if you would like to post your lifts that be great, but please also post if you have used gear, and your height, weight, age, experience etc

experience - 1 year 3 months <-- newbie
age - 20
height - 6 foot 5 <--- that is very tall..
weight - 240lbs <-- thats okay for your height if its lean
used steroids? no <-- Must have some good genetics since your a newbie as far as im concerned

>all lifts raw + beltless<
Deadlift - 442lbs <-- odd.. most people do less on this then they do on a squat
full squat - 310lbs <-- really bad concidering your pressing so much more not to mention it doesnt weigh much more then you.
dumbbell row - 142lbs x 17
hammer strength power shrug - 320lbs x 17 <-- this could go up more BTW thats an odd number most would concider you a liar.. who puts on 3 plates and a 2 1/2 lb plate lmao
standing calf raise - 507lbs x 17 <--- 507?? what the hell kind of number is that? Again you sound like a liar...
standing strict press - 150lbs <-- 150lbs? so your telling me again your using a 2 1/2 lb plate?
push press - 200lbs
power curl - 191lbs x 4 <-- 191? im starting to think your an idiot thats not even a possible number on the free weights they dont make 1lb weights or 1/2 lb weights.
close grip bench press - 177lbs x 6 <--- Strange number again
rope crunch - 270lbs x 13 <--- Its on a cable i can understand that
dumbbell side bend - 142lbs x 10 <--- I have never seen a 142 lb dumbell
pull ups - bodyweight x 4
towel grip hold - bodyweight x 58 seconds

Judging by your numbers they are made up or your not using an olympic set but I have never seen any at home weight set hold more then 200 lbs.

You have officially been called a fake

Lmao i should have asked for a picture of a 142lb dumbell

This guy hasnt touched a dumbell in his life he probably jumped on a couple crappy machines and thought he was a bad ass lol. How much lean muscle could you possibly have at 240 and 6'5 only working out for a little more then a year lol.. I seriously doubt you have even worked out that long if you didnt know dumbells go up by 5 not 2

I wondered a little about the odd weight numbers on his sets, but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt until proved otherwise.   I have kept a daily journal on this and other sites for about two years.  All of my weights and increases in weights are recorded.  I have never seen a one pound plate or a 142 pound dumbbell either. LOL

RE: are you stronger than me? - Thursday, January 11, 2007 1:24 PM ( #15 )
ibendbarbells - leanish year 12% body fat, i have been as much as 262 but was at 18%. I dont consider myself to have any freak genes or owt like that, i was 170 something an pretty fat before training

most people dont do squats to be honest about it, but if they do both deads an squats, deads are usually more but not by much

yeh my full squat is not so good, i never do a true 1rm, another 20-30lbs in the tank on that but its something i need to work on i agree

507lbs is the 180kg stack plus a 25kg plate each side - 230 x 2.2046 = 507.058, rounded is 507

150lbs is a 7.5kg bar plus 8 7.5kg plates plus two 0.5lb locks - 67.5 x 2.2046 = 148.81 + 1 = 149.81, rounded off is 150lbs

 191lbs is a 45lb plate, and a 10kg plate (actually weighed 45lbs between them, not 44), an a 45lb bar, plus a 2.5kg lock each side (11lbs between them) - 45 + 45 +45 + 45 +11 = 191

 177lbs is two 15kg plates on each side of a 20kg bar, with 2 locks weighing 1lb between them - 80kg x 2.2046 = 176.368 + 1 = 177.368, rounded is 177

142 is a 65kg dumbbell, which is supposed to be 143lbs, but it actually weighed 142

i weigh everything i use (all ya gotta do is bring the scales 1 time), an do not lie about anything to do with this

Welcome to Discussbodybuilding.com.  Please tell us where you are located?  That might be helpful, especially when talking about heavy lifting.  I know you will find some interesting and informative areas on this site.  It's full of U.S. and International members with lots of different experience levels.  This is a no BS site.  If you are legitimate in all things, you will be listened to and respected.  But if you try to misrepresent yourself, you will be quickly found out and be publically "stoned."  LOL   I joined the site two years-ago and really believe it's one of the best of its genre.

RE: are you stronger than me? - Thursday, January 11, 2007 1:44 PM ( #17 )
Well i have been proven wrong Yeah thats correct although your KG to LB's is a little off it makes more sense to me now. 12% BF so basically your just a big person.

Well then I am sorry

Your a freak... A total freak... But those numbers could improve. You need to start working on those Squats and when your doing those deadlifts Be sure you have proper form if its that much more then your squats you may be doing more then you can handle and curving your back.

Well now that I have appologized and have established your converting KG to LBS here are mine in comparison to yours:

Deadlift - 442lbs -- Not sure dont have the right bar for it
full squat - 310lbs -- 315lbs on a free bar alot more on a smith
dumbbell row - 142lbs x 17 - 110lbs x 8
hammer strength power shrug - 320lbs x 17 - 335 but only for 6
standing calf raise - 507lbs x 17 - I have no clue
standing strict press - 150lbs - 135lbs but thats not my max
push press - 200lbs - Not sure what you mean Bench? 295lbs on the flat
power curl - 191lbs x 4 - 135 x 3 <-- not sure though possibly more
close grip bench press - 177lbs x 6 <-- 185 x 8
rope crunch - 270lbs x 13 <-- not sure
dumbbell side bend - 142lbs x 10
pull ups - bodyweight x 4 <-- Id be lucky to get 8 - 10
towel grip hold - bodyweight x 58 seconds

i am a straight up honest person, i dont lie about anything to do with this an most likely never will / cant stand it when people do that

i know some people feel its needed to provide video of any half decent lifts but im not like that, everynow an then ill post something im proud of or if someone has asked for it, but thats all

i will put my youtube link in my sig for the videos, have a couple on there now (please tell me if links are not aloud on here)

Thats the only video I have done i want to do barbell rows video when im repping 225.. Anyways thats me doing 255 for 8 reps. Im on a slight decline though so its not that impressive, im sure i could do it 10 times now.

Welcome to the forum man, You made need to wait a couple years though to compete in the strong man... Those guys have power lifted for 10 - 15 years.. I think if you waited 3 - 4 years you may have a shot, Maybe just 2 more years.

I think an olympic lifting routine would help you the most in strong man and not a power lifting routine. But im not sure those guys are mostly gaining strength in their hands their squats deadlifts and over head press.. Standing military press is going to help you 10 fold.

You should start a journal on DB

twisted - ok, theres the link then, any vids will be on there, an im from Cheshire in north west England

ibendbarbells - thanks for the welcome

you definately have to be above average strength or its dangerous an you just wont move anything, but i personally dont see the need in waiting too long to compete, theres some novice contests that are not as heavy as the opens

im thinking of traveling down south in july to do a novice contest, last years events are listed below

i feel i would do ok at these events, i know 90 kilos each hand is nothing to me on farmers because ive done 248lbs a hand for a long distance with no put downs or problems + it was my 1st time doing it, im going for 275lbs a hand next time

i also think i would have a good chance of doing well in any grip event as that is something ive been training very hard.

I work in a carpet store warehouse so i do strongman training a lot, picking up odd shaped objects an moving with them is what the job is, an its gets heavy too - ive lifted 600lbs carpets stone style, so i may be half decent at lifting stones when i come to do them

I am planing to go train on all the equipment over the next month or 2

Event 1)
Arm Over Arm Pull
4X4 Vehicle (2.5 to3 tons Approx)

Event 2)
Yolks Carry
200 Kg (100 Kg a side)

Event 3)
Farmers Walk
180 Kg (90 Kg In each hand)

Event 4)
Metro Car Flip
To be flipped as quickly as possible over 25 meters

Event 5)
Deadlift Hold
Small Vehicle (0.5 Tons)

Event 6)
Crucifix Hold
12Kg (In each hand)

Event 7)
Southwest Medley
Barrel Load (X4 40 to 60 Kg)

 Tyre Flip (X2 Flips)
Duck Walk (150 Kg for 25 Meters)

RE: are you stronger than me? - Thursday, January 11, 2007 3:29 PM ( #24 )
You're much better than me in everything except squats, however if by 'full-squats' you mean 'butt to the floor' that may make up for the difference. I've squatted 315 for max previously, going slightly lower with the squat than the point which my thighs are straight forward, parralelll to the floor. My last leg workout, I squatted 345 but I really had to struggle it up and had to use some foot and lower leg drive to stand straight.

I'm 5'11'', my weight is fluctuating between 265-280, and I'm 26 years old, I've been lifting weights since I was about 14 which I guess adds up to 12 years.

I haven't used belts or much of anything artificial barring a power cage, for years

nice lifts fat2beefed, especially for 9 months proper training - just wondering if you have used roids as you dont mention if you have or not?

Twisted link, when I took it about two weeks ago my bf% was 19.4%. Its weird, b/c I don't have a really obese looking build and face, but my waist is several inches bigger than it should be for my weight. I'm not like super huge in terms of either fat or muscle, but I do have a pretty thick neck. I'm not one to post my measurements all the time, since, as I've stated before my waist is pretty big. But anyway right now I'll post the measurements I took last week

Upper Arm:14.9''
waist; 48.5''
Chest:49.5''
Thigh:27""
Calf:17''

and my neck measurement which I just took today:18.5''

I guess I'm built much better for powerlifting than bodybuilding, but I do intend to get my bf% back to about 15-16% in the next 3-4 months
The results of my training seems to bear this out, as I started getting stronger much faster when I cut my reps down to 4-8 per set from 6-10 per set

best lifts

Squat 295x6
Bench 175x3
Deadlift 285x1
Leg Press 800+ for reps

7 and 3/4'' wrist at 5'11''

yeah fat 2 beefed those are some impressive lifts, as far as the squat goes though, as long as you have a good power rack (aka power cage) heavy squats should be safe. I think new york barbell has a sumo rack for $130-140.
I actually bought one.
Or their full models in which both sides of the rack go above 6'' tall are somewhere around $200.
Or any good gym should have a full power rack.

2Kong2, have you ever tried the Kaptains of Krush grippers? On my best day ever I came close to making the handles touch on a no.2 left handed.

mikeb - it is my goal to eventually have the strongest hands in the history of the human race, so i do lots of grip work, which includes the grippers yes

i now use heavy grip grippers for the most part but my best with captains of crush grippers is #3 for 8 reps with a set right hand / 1 rep left hand, an 2 full no set reps right hand
