wow, your that tall at 16? thats awsome. well i'd say your on track with strength. i'm just saying that because your 3 inches taller than me and just 10 pounds heavier. i know i can rep the 350 deadlift there, but 225 ass to ground is tougher for me lol. stay on track bro

yea i think the deadlift was alot tougher for me to get up than the squats.. i could have probably went up to around 250 on the squats but i was fatigued already.

well i only ever finish off my workout with the hammer strength machine.. and the squating machine isnt a smith machine its a different machine the pads go over you shoulder and the weights go on both sides. im just kind of scared of doing squats with just a barbell and plates. for some reason i think its kinda dangerous. especially since im getting a good workout using the squating machine thats 100% safer i just use that. any suggestions on gaining weight? i been stuck at 190-193 for the past few months.. lately i been constanly drinking protein shakes and eating all the time.. especially at night.

yea i guess next leg day il try free wieght squats. i really dont see the difference tho in using this particular machine because there is no cables or anything to assist the weight.. the only thing this machine is is balanced so all you have to do is push.

the worst problem i have with squats is not positioning the barbell right on my back and shoulders.. everytime i do them my neck hurts for a week after. thats why i like this machine because its strictly on your shoulders.

dont put the barbell on your neck when you doin the squats. i like to place the bar like in the middle of my traps and the rest of the bar just goes over the shoulders a little. stick your ass out, keep back strait and look at the top of the wall, not so high to the ceiling.

also don't start at the full weight you did because you won't be able to do as much free weights..

Well I'm 16 and have been working out for about 7-8 months now, and my numbers are 315 for bench, a 495 squat, and a 545 deadlift. Depending on how long you've been lifting I would say that is pretty good for someone that has lifted for 3 or 4 months. I've always been naturally strong though so my squat and deadlift are pretty damn high for a 16 year old. Anyways, good lifts and keep on at it.
Old Lifts: Bench-335, Squat-455, Deadlift-495 New lifts: Bench-375, Squat-545, Deadlift- 585 Strongest 17year old on DBB

315 lb bench press? I'd be happy if I achieved that through the course of my whole life.

I'd say your doing pretty well for someone at 6'3... Thats really tall, at my school there's a similar chart and it says to reduce average lifts by 20% for anyone over 6'2..

Leg Beast is a big kid.. I mean from how much he weighs to how much he lifts is probably not far off from the smaller guy lifting over his weight. Besides for of course the squats and deadlifts, Upper body strength is probably about even in terms of ratio in weight over body weight. Do not worry about how much you can lift... I mean unless your into powerlifting, then that's all you.. Just focus on the form and keep trying new routines. Try new movements, New styles of lifts. Hypertrophy can be increased by lifts that your body is not accustomed to. As far as your strength goes, everyone is different. I do more on incline and dumbell shoulder press then people my size. Leg press.. Cable cross overs etc.. Keep your body guessing and don't shoot so much for the weight it self. Shoot for a weight that you can pump out without locking, stopping, bouncing, arching etc.. Make it look easy. It's all about the form and tempo

Cable cross overs etc.. that is so true. i lift with a guy about 35 pounds heavier than me and everything with chest he is stronger at, but all back and leg workouts he's got nothin on me. the rest of your post was well put IBB

I feel being honest with the guys I advise to is very essential. Those lifts are fine. Nothing too highly impressive, but the fact that you are progressing is something to be proud of. Stay consistent and by the time you're 20 I could easily see a 300lb. bench press 400lb. squat/deadlift. Are you squatting below parallel?
