Here's an old video of me squatting. http://youtube.com/watch?v=V5o43YIrdW8

Everbody at the gym I go to was telling me my form was perfect and I believed them. I thought the only thing that mattered was going low, but that isn't true. In actuality going just below parallel with awesome form is ten times better than going atg with crap form. Anyways the problem I was having was my hamstrings and glutes never got involved and my heels keep coming off the floor when I squated. I learned that it was due to me letting my knees go to far past my knees and not sitting back. When I corrected this I started to feel my glutes and hamstrings and guess what, my heels stopped coming off the floor.

Looks damn strong.

well in that case i kinda coach myself. i tell my lifting partner what to look for and to make sure i do certain things. I know i sometimes get my weight to far foward but i correct it on the next rep. I'm always worried about keeping the bar over the middle of my foot, which inturns leads me to worry about whether i'm leaning to far forward. other than those things i feel pretty comfortable with everything else. It's fun for me to learn and help teach proper form. my lifting partner is a hard learner!

You worry about the wrong things. The bar is always where it should be, because if it isn't you will fall. Worry about moving your hips the right way and keeping your chest high. How much you lean is not something to worry about. It is a function of bar position and knees position.

well i think it's just mainly i have a tendancy to get to far forward which leads to all the things i worry about.  leaning to far forward i guess is a result of the lowering of the hips or lack there of, uh?  anyways, my point was i constantly crtique my form through my partner and feel that 90+% my reps are of good form but strive for perfect always.

actually what i would love to see is 3 different videos:  1 of when i did them in high school, 1 when i started lifting again before starting strength and 1 of me now.  that would be cool.
No the leg press is not the same as doing squats.

Even with the knee's going to far past the toes and the heels coming up.. that squat is still better than 99% of the population who squat.. Do you have a new video with corrected form?  If so, I'd be interested to see it....

i say someone should make a thread and posting all the right ways to do various exercises.

this thread should be a sticky, so that everyone can look on it if they are having problems with a particular exercise, and that exercise will be in that thread.

how do this idea sound?

i dont think it is a bad idea.

i think it is a bad idea u made a petition to bring back the out of bounds when it was already stated the out of bounds was going to return.

now, from now on if you do not like what i have to post in a thread, then get out. other people might want to read it. idk why, but u seem not to like me, which is fine b/c i cant stand u either.

thats why i cant wait til the new system will be in place. i dont want to be a tattle-tale and i hate tattle-tales, but if i have to report people for giving me retarded comments that arent needed, then so be it.

This is a really good squat.

To be anally retentive (just to help you out), your wrists were bent, which makes them intercept part of the weight.  You could stand to lower the bar a little (although your position isn't too high) as well.  Try using the thumbless grip with a tiny bit lower bar positioning.  That way, the weight will be completely supported by your back, and not by your wrists.

But I must agree with smoundzou, better than most out there, especially at that weight.  If you continue doing them like this, I don't see any major issues occurring.  Good job!

I'm not going on my knees all over cause you wanna leave but you seem like a big guys ( not in an offensive way... ) and i mean... in the first place you come here to talk about bbing, which is what we do, why would u quit cause they insert a rep /neg system? get over it and just posts ur stuff! Unless the negs and reps gives/takes privilege i'm not aware about.

here is the message he sent me: If I started a thread as a petition to bring back the OOB forum, would you sign it?

this is my reply: it depends

and his reply: It's a yes or no question, what would it have to depend on?

my reply: i will base my decision on this:

you stop giving me a hard time and making look like i am a loser on the forums, an i will sign it.

do we have a deal? the first time you bash me, i will take back my decision.

his reply: No, if you don't want to sign it then don't.  I'm not going to give out special treatment or favors for signing it.  A seperate forum is already being worked on just for OOB.

my reply: good luck with the petition then
