another question for you guys - Wednesday, October 18, 2006 1:19 PM
im trying to lose weight but sorta get cut and regain some muscle at the same time is this possible?? and how many times should i run a week ive been doing
*mon 1 mile run
*tues 30 min bike
*wed 1 mile run
*thrus 30 min bike
*fri off
*sat off
*sunday 30 min bike

then i also lift weights after my running or bike stuff and hit the steamroom

    oh  yeah im 21 y/o  5"9 weighing at 210LBs   and my goal is 185lbs

Generally it is best to lift weights first, and then hit the cardio afterward.
Also something else to consider is changing your cardio to something more like guerilla cardio or HIT. A lot of people see better results going for High Intensity Training then those that just go out and run/bike/walk at a set pace for a set interval.

In order to gain muscle, you need excess calories. In order to lose fat, you need less. So, chasing both goals at once can be a real pain- Most people choose one goal at a time and go after it with everything they've got- I recommend you do the same thing. And remember, while exercise is definitely important, it's only one third of the big picture- Eat, Train, and Rest- Those are the three keys to good results. Since you didn't mention anything about your diet in your post, I'm going to assume that's where you need the most work- Here's a thread to get you started, and make sure to follow the link at the end of the article.
