am i overtraining? - Thursday, April 24, 2008 7:57 PM ( #1 )
hey, ive been going to the gym alot in the past few months
usually about 5 times a week, sometimes 6..

ive mainly been focusing on chest, i rotate muscle groups everday.. ill do chest on monday, maybe arms on tuesday.. legs on wednesday, but if my chest feels better that day ill do chest again instead and then do legs the next day...
is that bad.. am i going to much?? i know that legs and back are both really important so ive also been doing those alot as well.. i just dont if im going to much, if im hurting my self or anything
thanks for any replies..

That depends on how many sets/reps/exercises you're doing.  If you're doing one or two exercises then no.  If you're not an experienced lifter (years I mean) and you're doing like 7 exercises, then yes you're probably overtraining.

Don't work your chest more than any other major muscle group.  If you are a beginner, then drop arms day as it is completely unnecessary if you are doing compound lifts on your major muscle group days.
