already stalling on bb curl

Quick Question. So i've just begun a higher volume program, 3x10, and its starting with a full body routine done 3 days a week. I'm on the second week and I've already stalled on the barbell curl. I started with 40 pounds, n ive been at it, barely making 7 reps on the last set, since the beginning, but my tricep pushdown has already gone up to 60. Any suggestions? I tried a drop set to 30 today so maybe that'll do something, but ya, my diet is good. All clean whole calories so wtf i dunno.

Triceps are bigger and stronger than biceps, so naturally they'll progress better. Barbell rows are better for biceps than barbell curls because you can progress faster on a row, the curl will eventually stall much much quicker than a barbell row, so I would recommend rowing and pullups and progressing in them, your biceps will explode.

there are many ways to progress. Rest time, reps, sets, speed... plus its BB curls, it should be an assistance exercise to begin with which isnt all that important to progress to begin with...I mean its nice too...but your main lifts are priority.

dont stress it, maybe you just need to rest more. How often are you doing biceps. like mvp said, tris are much stronger then bis so youre going to naturally see bigger gains on tris. you really dont need to do to much isolation for bis, especially if you're doing big compound lifts like deads and bar bell rows. try adding deadlifting to your program, that will help with all your lifts. i never deadlifted until i came on here saw all these guys preaching about it. now i love dead lifts.
