It has antioxidant effects but for the most part it's just a fad.

I know a lot of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu guys drink pure acai berry juice after training sessions and when they are trying to cut weight for competitions.

I got a free months supply of this stuff that had 7 of the world's best berries.  Anyways it had acai and a lot of other things, my girlfriend is still taking it, but for me I had such bad diarhea I could not stand taking it anymore.  I dunno if she has lost any weight, but it will sure flush a normal person out.

berries in general are very good for you. The problem with acai is it is probably in some "health" drink with a lot of sugar and what not. I don't ever see just the berries in the produce section, then again I haven't really looked. lol

^^its a fruit from poly islands.  the factory and corp building is in utah.  i've know some people that sell it, they are part of a stoopid pyramid scheme.  its good for you, but for losing weight primarily its not worth it at all.  nasty too

the stuff i tried I thought tasted good, it was only an ounce a serving, so I doubt it was too overly sugary, took it in the morning on an empty stomach.  Good ol pyramid scheme's, they get you buying it, get you to sell it, and they ship the stuff each month and automatically bill it.  If it wasn't overpriced I would consider taking it once in a while but daily is killer on the system.

Funny thing is I told my roomates not to drink it cause it is expensive stuff and you only drink 1 ounce at a time, and I look at my bottle one day and someone had drank probably an entire glass worth.  I hope they had the worst runs of their life, I was pissed, can't keep anything expensive in my fridge.

sometimes in wrestling me and my friend use acai because it has similar effects to pear juice.

Makes you **** your guts out.

It does have antioxidants though,
thats why its in vitamin waters "XXX" antioxidant drink...
