For any ectomorphs who've made some good progress I'm just curious about some of your common practices

- do you eat 6meals a day
- what kinda rest to you do in between exercises (currently I do 4min)
- how many total sets do you do per workout.
I did 16 today for shoulder/leg workout
4 shoulder press   4 front raises   4 squat   4 calve raises

that workout took more than an hour at 4min rest I feel like maybe thats too long should I cutout some sets or cut rest time

I'm just starting and trying to learn as much as I can to optimise my workouts... I have the nutriition part down I think
Keep in my I only have dumbells and a incline bench for now I just wanna get going with that.  If I need more I'll
add it later.

I'd personally prefer answers from ectomorphs who've made good progress as maybe thats a particular routine that works best
for us.  ....... Thanks in advance for any responses..

Well, I'm averaging 4 or 5 sets per exercise, 8-10 reps per set, ad I try not to exceed 90 seconds rest between sets.  It typically takes all 90 seconds to get my energy back up for another assault on heavier lifts like squats and DL's, but on everything else, I may even cut it to one minute between sets.

30-45 seconds between abdominal sets.

On that kind of pace, I can usually get five (sometimes six) different exercises in for the whole workout.

Currently, I'm hitting a two-way (upper/lower) split that looks something like the following:
Lower
Squats 5 x 10 (90 seconds rest)
Deadlift 5 x 10 (90 seconds)
DB Lunge 4 x 10 (60 seconds)
Standing Calf Raise 4 x 20 (60 seconds)
Reverse Crunch 4 x 15 (30 seconds)

Upper
Chinup 4 X 7 (60 seconds)
Low Cable Row 5 x 8 (60 seconds)
Bent DB Row 4 x 10 (60 seconds)
Bench Press 5 x 8 (60 seconds)
Incline DB Press 4 x 8 (60 seconds)
Swiss Ball Ab crunch 4 x 25 (30 seconds)
All of which is subject to change within two weeks.  Never sit still Smile

Yes, that's me in my avatar, and NO, I don't look like that today. That was taken back in Jan '07, and I lost most of that progress when I slacked off last year. I'm on my way back, tho, and I'm using that photo for inspiration.
