Ziad's Journal - "Rome wasn't built in one day" - Thursday, October 01, 2009 3:20 PM ( #1 )
After countless readings, research, and help, I have finally decided to put my step into the Bodybuilding world.

Thank you to Marc David for his really helpful articles and RollingStone for his useful advice.

Stats:
18 years old, 5' 10, 130 lbs, new to bodybuilding.

Goals:
Bulk up.
Reach the Adonis Index.

Current Training Schedule:

I have been advised to go for HST.

Monday:
Squats
Incline Bench Press
OH Press
Bent Over BB or DB Row
Weighted Pullups or Pulldowns

Wednesday:
Deadlift
Flat Bench or Weighted Dips
Arnolds
Seated One Arm Rows
Weighted Pullups or Pulldowns

Friday:
Squats
Incline Bench Press
Hang Clean & Press
Bent Over BB or DB Rows
Weighted Pullups or Pulldowns

Nutrition Plan:

I live on campus in a university, so its hard keeping my nutrition straight. I have been advised to have 6 meals a day, with breakfast being the biggest.

Protein-15-25%,
Carbohydrates-45-75%
Fat-10-30%

This is what I will be aiming for.

About the quote "Rome wasn't built in one day" is one of my favourite quotes and it's there to keep me motivated.

Here's a pic of me, I'm skinny at the moment.

All I have to say is be consistent and live by that quote if it will help.  And the best advice whatever you do, is to eat eat and eat more food.  Should be able to make some really solid beginner gains and fast progress if you eat lots of quality food.

Problem here is, I'm in a uni, they have fast food restaurants mainly over here, its gonna be hard having 6 meals a day full of quality food.

You have a huge advantage over most people who decide to make a fitness lifestyle change in that your bodyfat is low.  Your progress will come alot quicker and more noticeably and you will put on a better muscle to fat ratio.

Just try your best to eat enough, when I first went to school I ate at a cafeteria, and initially I was lifting and eating and I put on weight, but when I stopped eating enough it went downhill fast because I got sick of the lousy food, but I would have been better off just eating it anyways.

"Rome wasn't built in one day"

Certainly this quote is very applicable to bodybuilding.

I am having trouble with nutrition =/

First, im not getting the 6 meals a day right, I usually get 3 big meals a day.

2nd, they arent in the right proportions, mainly fat.

I am so annoyed with myself right now.

NEED TO CONTROL NUTRITION

Changing my gym, its too cold to walk outside ! Got membership in this private gym in my buildings basement, its pretty small and doesnt have a lot of stuff, but its good enough for me to carry out my exercises. My previous gym was a 15 minute walk away, and its getting colder here, so I couldnt really go out so much.
