I just realized I've lost about an inch from my gut! Yahoo!!!  It was so slow I didn't even realize it.  But yesterday I was comfortably fitting in a pair of pants that I really like but had been a little tight before.

I looked back at some old logs.  I'm pretty much, if not a little bit better, where I was before my injuries about a year or so ago (slightly less fat, a little more muscle).  So change CAN happen.

I'm psyched!!!

I'll trade you my lousy waist of today for your current strength and rippedness.  Deal?!?  My address is . . .

Actually my overall goal isn't to be as big as I can, but to have more of a fitness model physique.  Seems like that will take awhile, too.  Oh well, I'm not going anywhere!

One step at a time . . .

Z still looking good man, What quantifiable goals do you have? Have you set a waist line your shooting for short term and long term? Or are you wanting to get what feels and looks right to you? Sorry to interrupt.
Eat...Lift....Sleep......Repeat

Enjoy the process.. but crave the goal.

You're hardly interrupting!

Let's see:

42" chest, 30-32" waist, biceps 15-16", thighs 23-25", calves I'm happy with the left, but would love to get the right one caught up (it lags almost a 0.5" behind . . . ).  10-12% BF, although I would like to take it down to 8% or less at least once.

I'm thinking a year or so if things keep going well to start to seriously close in on these goals.  I'm learning patience.

Absolutely fantastic goals! You will definatly be a ripped beast with those. If you had the dedication to get a degree, I am positive you will be able to do this as well.

September 8 workout

This workout felt great, although this morning . . . ouch!

I almost did a Nic and passed out on the squats!  That was a scary moment.  The exercise is much more challenging when you I go down s l o w.  It was nice to see that I could pile on a lot more weight than the program suggested.  Bwahahahaha.

I biked to work after those squats.  OWW.  It was a very slow ride in!

It was a good thing that I had exercised hard.  The work day, which started out productive, quickly deteroirated into one of those days that make you question your sanity.  I was so ready to pummel a colleague (me and a bunch of other colleagues), but luckily for him, I was beat after this workout, AND, he works in a different office.  Oh well.  Another time.

I was worried about the effects of the front press on my performance last night (playing violin and viola in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown) -- our church has a small, suprisingly very fine, theater group.  I was fine.  Even if there were some aches, I was probably so pumped on adrenalin from my stressful work day, which also made me rushed to get to the show on time, I wouldn't've noticed it.  Two more performances today and one more tomorrow.

Speaking of viola playing, my teacher says I need a slightly higher chin rest.  HA!  I know what the real solution should be . . . a bigger chest!!!  I'm on it!

September 8 food

Everything was going well according to plan, until the s--t hit the fan late afternoon on Friday (see above entry).  I had planned to leave work (bike) early at 4 p.m. to get home in time to make my chicken breast dinner (mexican style--yum!) (which were nicely defrosting in the sink, away from curious cats' eyes), get changed and be early to the show to warm up, but that didn't happen.

Instead, I had to abandon my bike at work (I hope it wasn't vandalized!), took a cab home at 5:30 p.m., and when I asked him to wait 10 minutes so that I could change and get my instruments and then be taken to church (they charge you for waiting time), the bastard said no.  (Of course, this is the guy that almost got lost without my directions!).  I hate many Chicago cab drivers.  They suck at driving (plus they take aim at cyclists), and they have no clue on customer service.

So then after changing, I had to pile on my instruments (I was carrying two), walk to the closest busy intersection, and pray that I could get a cab in enough time (on a Friday night!) to make it to the show before the downbeat.  I did, but barely.

Anyway, back to the food.  I obviously didn't have time for dinner.  Back at the office, I threw myself on the mercy of my spendthrift colleague, who had once told me he had bought cases of energy bars, and he gave me two bars which I ate in the cab.  Very unsatisfying, but hey, they were calories and protein.  I grabbed another bar (I was surprised I had any in the pantry at all!) for the show, which I ate right afterwards.  Yuck.

The Fritos were comfort food (although I didn't even have time to get its usual partner, the diet Coke).  I know, I know, but some old habits die hard.  At least I hadn't made a meal out of them like I caught my colleague doing the other day (two bags, plus cookies and a Diet Coke).  Ugh!

Isn't it nice that you get to see my rantings every now and then?!?
