DAN!

Is my liver heavy because I drank too much before, or I'm just getting older?

I do the gut sucking exercises (although not this particular one) all the time. . . how long before see real results in that arena?  ARe there other exercises I can do?

I feel better about myself, and I'm looking forward to the next phase...

Oooh, another thought--is there a type of chair that I can use that would counteract the wrong kind of ab condition I'm getting now, such as a stability ball?  (I hope this made sense!  My partner keeps talking to me when I'm trying to type!!!)

It is just the ravages of time on us...and our predominant activities...such as inactivating the core most of the day!!

I feel better about myself, and I'm looking forward to the next phase...

You should..you ROCK!!!

ABS-olutely.  The stability ball, when you perch upon it, requires the use of the core!
I use my stability ball as a chair part of the time...though I should do it all of the time.

Warning..in the beginning it can make you queezy..as you are not accustomed to the proprioceptively rich environment!

My partner keeps talking to me when I'm trying to type!!!)

Kiss passionately and stunn...giving you a few scant minutes to type in silence...

Thanks, Dan.  I'll stun the partner next time to get some peace!  I'm looking now for a stability ball appropriate for my office (I wonder if there is an "executive" style ball out there?)  My bright blue one isn't going to hack it!

Well, there is a "Ball Chair"  But I somehow doubt it gives you the same benefit...

They do make an executive version of it...
Deluxe Ball Chair

Maybe you could just have a black stability ball for the office?
They (Resist-a-ball) do make a 55cm 65cm or 75cm black ball.
Here is a link to the place to get that...
Black Resist-a-ball

Looks like the 75cm Black balls are popular!

I found those ball chairs last night, and came to the same conclusion.  Yes, a black or even grey ball should hack it!

Well, today started the heavy lifting.  The prescribed weights, with the exception of the deadlifts (today was deads, bench, rear dumbell raises, lying hamstring curls), were waaaay too light (I'll post everything tomorrow--I'm about to hit the hay).  I upped the weights on almost everything.  I still didn't think I was lifting as hard as I should; HOWEVER, tonight, I'm feeling it.

It's nice to feel so much stronger than I have ever been -- even if for a lot of guys around here, my maximums would be laughable.   But there's been obvious progress, and I'm beginning to have a chest that fights with a t-shirt (instead of the gut winning all the time!).

Ok, here it is! THE first, supposedly sick-mass building workout!  As I said, the prescribed weights seemed too light, so I upped things as I went . . .

No max is ever laughable, as long as you are working as hard as you can, I have seen some buff @$$ people that don't lift much at all. My arms are growing alot and I don't do huge amounts of weight because my wrists have had problems.

From what I have seen is alot of the time there are two seperate paths weightlifters take, some go for pure power and max weight with max reps, but are not big at all, just very tight and trim, and others go for low reps with their max and get huge, but they by far are not the ones beching 300+ pounds....... One of the biggest guys at my gym was curling 30 pounds one handed the other day, but squeezing like hell... and it is obviously working.... (** note the whole seperate path thing doesnt seem to apply to Black because he is ripped and strong )
Eat...Lift....Sleep......Repeat

Enjoy the process.. but crave the goal.

Hey Coop, yeah, you're right.  Some of the gods in my gym lift small weights.  But they aren't black, either!

The strength thing, in this case, feels great to me after two bouts of injuries and a surgery over the last year.  However, I still would prefer mass .

Wednesday, September 6 workout.

Those lunges . . . ugh!
One of my goals is to do front pull ups of my own weight.  I've progressed quite a bit getting there.  I used the assist machine, and I found that the platform helps stabilize me (hence the 30# assist/150# "lifted").  75% of the reps were negatives to try and gain strength.

But my legs and my ass this morning (it's Thursday).  OWWWWW!
