Took the SAT's today, and have had a mental relapse for a few hours. Taking an IQ test is totally out of the question. Unfortunetly, I have some green, but I dont want to touch it cause it'll slow my running down.

Nice scores. Yet i would have thought your score would have been over 9000!!!!!!!!! Smile

For the most part those questions were pretty easy, but there were a few tough ones.

Has anyone ever taken a legit IQ test? I wonder how much harder those are than this quick little internet one.

I've taken a real IQ test twice in my life. When I was 6 but I didn't really understand what was going on and it was taken with blocks and puzzles and a doctor asking the questions and such. Again when I was 17. I'm taking the practice test for Mensa soon and depending on that I may sit for the Mensa test. The real ones are much harder but all of them are fun.Smile

haha actually it's the opposite. You're scores tend to get worse as you get older.

Edit: The test you take as a child is of course different from the test you take as an adult.

well right, but your basic cognitive ability never changes although obviously as time goes on your brain cells die ect ect so you do in fact become dumber

Practice Mensa-done it before-i got 130 something

www.highiqsociety.org

They let you in if you score 124 or higher, you might think "haha, piss"

No, its not, the questions are much harder.

Remember an IQ test is based on logic, cognition and patterns, you can change your IQ, i was a dumb **** as a kid who was threatened to be put into a special needs school.

Age 9 i take the before year Cognitive test (like an IQ test) and i got nearly 100%.

My IQ has ranged loads, when i was 12-13 i took another one and it came out as 108

Right now whenever i take them they linger around the 130-150 point.

Not to mention some online ones give me 180, some online ones give me 110

They range in hardness, a LOT in hardness.

Not to mention i once put my age as 5 on the test and did the same answers as before but quicker, i memorised the answers i put, i originally got 130 something as always

changed the details of me, new email addy for results, 5 years old and 36 questions in literally 2 minutes, if that, im a fast clicker/typer

same IQ score.

I dont really trust IQ tests much...I know someone with a Maths A level grade A and is at a top computer programming university and he struggles getting past 110 on any IQ test, even simple online ones.

EDIT:Or astrophysics...i know both are really intelligent but ones kickass at IQ tests the other is just pants....

Thing is maths is a step by step guide, you dont even have to understand its actual process, in GCSE maths i never understood how the answers came about, but with failed coursework, and 20 minutes revision i just parrot learned how to do equations and came out overall (even with 40% failed coursework) a C grade, so being really good at maths doesnt warrant a giant IQ, it just means youre good at remembering the sequence you need to use to get an answer

The way an IQ test is based, if you get a 100 on it, then you know exactly what you should know at your age.  Anything over 100 you know more, anything under 100 you know less.

I had to take one when I was in 7th grade, got a 148.
