Thank Crea0tine. I'll answer your PM here.
Honestly it wasn't 6 months, it was more like 3 to 3.5 years. All I did was bulk for a couple years. I was originally like 165 lbs, and I bulked up to 220. I bulked kinda "dirty" meaning I didn't count calories or anything, but I did try to eat clean. Dirty bulking doesn't necessarily mean to eat unhealthy. It just means to eat to gain weight, even if it means more then 1 lb./week.
Others may disagree, but I focused on getting strong. Gaining weight greatly helps with strength gains. I always followed strength routines. I started with NROL for almost a year, then I did SS, then I moved onto the Texas Method, and now I feel as if I know my body well enough where I can sway away from cookie cutter routines, so I designed my own. I was always a fan of full-body (or at least upper/lower splits), and I squat quite often!
But basically, it's all about the bulk. I didn't worry about my abs or fat gain, I just bulked bulked bulked bulked, and I kept lifting heavier and heavier and heavier......It's what I've always preached to people, and it's what I did.
When it came time to cut, I just simply started doing some serious cardio (MMA classes), and eating a strict diet of very low carbs during the week. On the weekends I'm not really as strict and I drink a lot too. I consider the weekends "carb loading" to make myself feel better, lol.
The training during the cut remained the same - lift HEAVY and make every workout harder then the previous.
So basically to sum it up:
- Bulk the f*** up, without worrying about gaining fat or losing abs
- Lift HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY!!!!!! Get strong as s***!!!!!
- Once you can't see your penis anymore when you look down, and decide you wanna cut, go on a STRICT diet at least 5 days a week, and do a ton of cardio.
- I hate "cardio", but I LOVE learning MMA, which is all cardio. So if you're like me, I recommend finding a form of cardio that you actually enjoy so you can stick to it.
- Continue to lift HEAVY during the cut.
- Don't make the mistake of cutting too soon either, because I notice a lot of people get stuck in the bulk/cut/bulk/cut cycle. You simply have to accept the fact that you are going to gain fat during your bulk. And understand that it takes time and patience to build enough muscle so that when you cut you actually have something to show.
This is just how I do it. A lot of other people like to clean bulk and minimize the fat gains, and do bodypart splits, and focus on "hypertrophy" and what not. Not me though.
