I am just barely 5'6 and am currently around 69kg (152lbs) and I've gotten pretty lean. A bit leaner than my Summer Comp photos. And Summer's in about a month for me pretty much but meh, I'm gonna bulk and I'm not looking back.

Thanks for reading Jane, I appreciate that. :)

I went hard, I went home.

I sweat my nuts off today through my workout. For my 4th set of Deadlifts I repped 238lbs for 7 reps.

All in all a great workout, put my all into it. I've been trying to eat as healthy as possible but I've gone astray more than once because well,
1. I'm not financially secure
2. I'm bulking.
The majority of my meals are still lean and healthy but I'm not gonna be afraid to have a bit of chocolate post-workout and things like that.

My only concern is, tomorrow I have a practical class with swiss-balls, which means he's not gonna make me leave the gym without feeling more fingered than I already got today. But I thought I'd take the risk... lol

For a while I was thinking that I was liking Power Cleans most, but...nah, Deadlifts ftw. I love my Deadlifts, with a burning lust, it is true love and I will make her happy some day when I'm repping 500lbs. And by God, one day I WILL be repping 500lbs!

Re: RE: Wyrms' Journal - Wednesday, November 05, 2008 7:27 PM
New routine for my bulk, and a new diet from my learning!

Workout A
Warm-up exercise
Squats, 2 warm-up sets + 4x 12,10,5,5
Pull-ups, 2x -
Chin-ups, 3x -
DB Bench Press, 4x 8-12
OH Reverse Lunges, 3x10
Stiff-Leg Deadlift, 3x10
+Chest stretch, Lat stretch, Hip Flexor stretch

Workout B:
Deadlifts, 5x12,12,8,5,5
DB Rows, 5x8-12
Flat Bench Press, 4x12,5,5
YTWA, 3x 10-12
Split-Leg Squat, 3x 10
+Stretches

Workout C (I adopted this one from Frank, but made my own addition to it)
Power Cleans, 8x2
Squats, 3x10
+Stretches

I started on workout C the other night, it fudged me up.

I really think it's a great staple for a routine because Olympic Lifts stimulated 100% of the body's muscle fibers in comparison to much lower levels with other exercises.

Today I got workout A, I expect it to mess me up.

I have a lot of different meal ideas for all meals so I can switch it around and not get bored, as I've always done - just not a more controlled extent.

Meal 1:
-5 eggs, capsicum, mushroom
oatmeal, peanut butter
-oatmeal, peanut butter, 2 scoops of whey

+MULTI
+FISH OIL
+FLAXSEED OIL

Meal 2:
- 2 cans of tuna, carrot, nuts
- protein shake, carrot, nuts

Meal 3:
- Lamb and beans
- Cottage cheese, apple, flaxmeal
- Cottage cheese, apple, nuts

Meal 4:
- Protein shake, fruit (apple, orange or kiwi fruit), nuts

Meal 5:
- Meat and vegies
- Eggs and vegies

+ Fish oil capsule

Meal 6:
- 2 glasses of milk

---
Pre-workout meal will be meal 4 + more carbs
Post-workout meal will be a protein shake + banana

Even though today was a really hot day, I decided to spice up Power Clean day a bit...

3x8-10 - Sumo Squats (Ended on 180lbs)
8x2 - Power Cleans (Started 120lbs, ended with 150lbs)
1x9 - Deadlifts (240lbs, a lot of hard work! Honestly thought I was gonna get only 5! Turk happy)

All in all, my lower body feels pretty fingered.

Next week I'm gonna be on half-doses for anti-depressants, mirtazapine, I extensively researched its effects for 2-3 hours. ****ing H1-H2 receptors do my head in but in terms of anti-d's it's a relatively safe alternative.

And I'm not using it for anti-depressant reasons, I'm using it to achieve better quality sleep and to stop the nightmares.

I'll tell you how that goes. Merry ****ing christmas.

The mirtrazapine would help as well because there's a 17% increase in appetite and I feel that I am just damn well not eating enough.

Plus, significantly less cortisol levels, no effects on sex hormones like SSRIs, and significantly less prolactin which means there's a lot of room for my testosterone to peak. And the lack of prolactin and adrenocortitropins could mean that it just might eliminate my gyno.

My lecturer's a monster...

I showed up today for our prac session. He raped me good, aye, that he did.
15 minutes of interval training on the rower, then not long after that we started getting taught boxing. Now I know how to teach people boxing and how to hold my ground in a street fight, but man he ****ed me up.
1-2 hours of circuit training involving a lot of boxing, then a station-to-station circuit with skipping rope, boxing, walking lunges and push-ups - 2-3 minutes on each.

We ended it with a 10 minutes of light-moderate cardio to clear up the all the lactic acid but I'm still gonna hurt for days...

Re: RE: Wyrms' Journal - Sunday, November 16, 2008 4:40 AM
I've been reading A LOT of studies and A LOT of articles siting studies (I don't believe everything I read, relax, I'm not that stupid...), particularly some stuff on t-nation.com which has a fair few good articles mind you.

I'm earning about half a pound a week at the rate I'm going and I think I'm not eating enough, now I'm starting to up my diet and have more calorically dense foods (nuts, oils), but not necessarily junk food, I've been trying to avoid that.

I've decided I'm going to test a theory which a lot of professionals actually continuously do throughout their training periods; Stay lean while gaining mass. Lemme elaborate...

Now I know the whole Brihead 'eat everything' fad is going around and despite the concept of eating a lot of crap above your caloric requirements giving you more muscle in the faster amount of time, and (depending on genetics) also giving a lot of people a lot of fat. I'm not a fan of the so-called shortcut which has more holes in it than swiss cheese.

I believe in eating organic whole foods and a lot of fruits, veges and having EFAs (fish oils, flax) in your diet and am taking closer steps on my budget to eat better despite my already good diet - because the better my diet is, the closer I am to optimal performance.

Now I've been a fan of eating whole organic food to bulk for a while but the theory I'm going to test is if I can efficiently bulk up (even bulk up faster than the rate I'm doing now) while implementing interval training twice per week to incredibly boost my metabolism, burn a lot of bodyfat and at the same time keep my blood lactate up.

In theory, all these steps contribute to a healthier, leaner and more muscular you.
So I'm gonna eat whole foods like a mad man, moreso on training days, in order to accommodate my resistance training and my interval training.

All in hopes of being able to bulk up while reducing the stupid amount of bodyfat my body is more susceptible to gaining.

+1kg muthafrackers.

My workout 2 days ago was crazy. Deadlift day, really worked my arse off.
And I hurt a lot the next day don't get me wrong, but not as much as I'd have liked to...
Ya know what that means? GOTTA UP THE WEIGHT. =D

Also, on my 5th set of Deads I got 6 reps out of 250lbs. Felt goood. I love Deadlifts.

Today's Power Clean+Sumo Squat day. Time to get hammered.
