Hi, I am a high school wrestler, getting ready for the next season in the fall/winter. I weight about 170 lbs, 5'8", and plan on losing weight till about 160 and lifting like crazy from there and get back to 170.

i cant lift too much, i can bench rep about 135 about 5 times about 4 reps till i cant do anymore, curl about 25's in 2 times 10 reps, etc-
i've just started to lift again from the last month about 5 times a week.

i need to know the best workouts for wrestle, so i can become stronger,

thanks!

Try doing a 5X5 Routine... using the following exercises 3 X's weekly..

Workout A
Squat
Bench
OH Press
BB Rows

Workout B:
Deads
Incline Bench
Clean and Press
BB Rows

Week One: ABA
Week Two: BAB

Start the weight at 70% and add weight each workout.. if you stall.. drop the weight back to the previous week..

ok thats pretty good i guess
but im looking for intense training like some of the studs at our school work out 5 times a week, and i know that damages muscle but he is really good and buff.

if you wanna really one up yourself:

you said you want to wrestle at 160.. drill with someone who weighs about 175 youll feel the difference during your matches.. i wrestled 145 and drilled with my 160 pounder it will make you stronger and faster just be cautious not to wrestle with someone too heavy

ive wreslted for nearly half my life and learned alot on my "journey" lol take some sort of protein after practices and when you wake up and eat healthy... youll notice results and changes in your strength

Wrestling is the greatest sport other than HOCKEY...!

hmmmmm.. the routine I just listed is not something off the top of my head.. if you follow the routinie correctly and lift heavier each week following a good progressive load.. .. it will definatly give you strength.. far better than any 5 day single muscle routine...

Intense training has nothing to do with the routine.. it's what you put into the rotutine..

I can make a 3 day per week, 2 exercises routine intense..
