Wrestling Is Coming. - Friday, August 25, 2006 7:18 PM
Hi, i am about to start another year of wrestling. I currently am starting to bench more and more but i dont know how much i should bench. I thought something around 110-115 would be good but i was told that can screw you up. Can you give me some good advice on that. Also i have been doing situps everyday since i was about 12, im 14 now. I cant seem to get rid of that little bit of fat that still remains there. I want my abs to show not that stupid pudge. Whats a good way to get rid of it???

Your help would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks.

Dude, wrestling comes FROM THE LEGS. What are you using when you go for the take-downs? Quads, hips, etc. Start squatting asap. Also, I think you can go a little more than a 110 bench. You have about 3 months until season starts, you can bulk up and then start cutting back to your original weight when the tournaments start. Also, make sure to jog a mile a day. It REALLY helps when season starts.

The weights won't screw you up.
Jusg pointed out, you need to train the whole body.
Do not neglect the legs!
You need to do training that incorporates power and endurance.
You also ned to work up your aerobic capacity.

true but there is alot of upper body moves also, especially when you're on top position trying to turn the guy. Jogging is great too.

turning the guy is mostly legs too. For highschool anyway. you have him in a half nelson and you run and run around until he breaks and rolls over.
If it wasn't painfully difficult then you didn't do it right
