Worst Advice Ever? - Tuesday, August 19, 2008 6:23 PM
Whats the worst advice anyone has ever given you on bodybuilding - whether diet, specific exercises, routines, etc?

Did you follow the advice?
What were the results?
For how long did you follow it?

I've had advice from doing behind the neck pulls(still controversey over this) to drinking beer to add more calories to the daily intake.

Both of which, I never followed.

"Arch your back when you are doing curls, and lean towards the side that is curling, it helps you get under the weight."

I don't remember what I said in response, I think I blacked out.

I don't usually listen to other people's advice.  I research stuff myself, and I try things out, and I then do what works for me.  I guess I'm just stubborn.

I will ocassionally ask for a critique on my form on a certain exercise, but even then I'm a bit skeptical of whether or not the person knows what they are talking about.

"If it's too heavy to lift properly, just throw it up."  To which I replied, "Nah buddy, you can go hurt yourself if you'd like."  Never stepped foot in a gym again.

Difference between droping the weight on your chest and bringing to your chest...

anyway some crazy advice I heard a long time back was you want to be in the gym for 3-4 hours to really build some muscle.

Women should only use weights for their legs, like the leg press....
