Well today is Friday and it's my day where I work the triceps. Except my tri's still feel sore from last week.

I just started working out and following a diet a week ago. I only went through my 3-day work out plan once so far.

What do I do if my triceps are still sore from last week?

I can only tell you what I do bro -- the answer is it depends upon how sore I am and what muscle group it is in.  Once you work out for awhile, you will learn more about your body and the recovery needs for each muscle group as well as what your limits are.

In the beginning, I would be VERY CAREFUL since the fact is that if you really pull a muscle or a ligament, you will not be able to work out that muscle AND ANY OTHER MUSCLE that it supports.  This can be a real drag since I am sure, like me, you want to work out and even enjoy it.

Sometimes I change up my split to give a muscle an extra day rest.  For example, today (Saturday) was my "arm" day (I do a 4-day split per week).  However, I really pounded my arms on Tuesday and felt quite sore in my right bicep near where it attaches to the bone.  So, I changed up my routine and did back and shoulders.  I rest on Sundays (I worship the Lord at church) and I will then do arms on Monday.  This way, I am giving my arms an extra 2 days of rest -- and hopefully not only will my bicep sorness go down, but my arms will grow since rest and recuperation = muscle growth.

Hope this helps..........................

personally, i don't follow a set lifting routine, such as i do tri's every mon and friday.  i work them, then when they aren't sore anymore i work them again.  works for me.  i just listen to my body.

same here, though its best to wait at least 4 days since your last day if you are going for size, it takes the muscle 4-7 days to fully rebuild its size
