Working out regularly vs working out seasonally? - Tuesday, October 27, 2009 11:45 PM ( #1 )
Hi Old Navy, I was just wondering if there was a difference between someone that worked out regularly like everyday for 1 - 2 hours versus... Someone who sits around for 9 months of the year, and then busting his hump for 3 months to get back into shape, other than risking serious injury of course. Is there an advantage to maintaining physique? Thanks.

An ongoing workout program is more beneficial than the shotgun approach.  Your muscles get stronger and bigger with prolonged physical activity.  Trying to go from coach potato to a fit athlete in a short burst is a tough road to take.

The ideal plan is to weight train three days-a-week, do cardio two days-a-week and take the weekend off...to be a couch potato.  See, you can have it both ways.  LOL
