Working Out Stoned

My brother likes to workout stoned (ya i know hes ****in stupid) and i need some good arguments why its bad. i told him if anything do it afterwards My arguments were that you might injure yourself, its not good since it slows down blood pressure and relaxes your body but when u workout it does the opposite. His arguements were he doesnt do cardio since he has a leg injury/sprain or something, Im not stupid enough to injure myself, and he said it makes him stronger and is able to lift more weights (i dont know but thats what he said) and that when hes high he enjoys working out. I need some good arguements, i know its bad but dont know how to explain it.

maybe an argument for it would be smoking relaxes your muscles then working out stimulates them so your getting more " bang for you buck " but i guess you could also say the oposite

how about this "GETTING HIGH CAN KILL YOU!!!" If you workout when your stoned your head isn't in the right place. He probably just thinks he is stronger becuase he is not thinking striaght. Also, what happens if he tries to do a heavy bench press and blanks out when the bar is right over his head? the guy can kill himself!

Ok, heres the deal. What I may say will cause controversey, but I dont care: If you lift weights, then afterward smoke a joint, you will actually benefit. Weed inceases bloodflow=nutrients to strecthed muscle tissue. Throw in a whey shake, beautiful thing. If you smoke before lifting....your an idiot.
Current Supplements: Multi, Whey, Caffeine, BCAA, Vitamin C, Calcium Current Cycle: Strength "Do not go where the path may lead, instead go where there is no path, and leave a trail."

maybe an argument for it would be smoking relaxes your muscles then working out stimulates them so your getting more " bang for you buck " Ya i was thinking about that but i relized your body does more work when your high when your working out which could be like you said a advantage or/and disadvantage. I know hes not going just simply quit smoking so i need some info on why not to do it BEFORE working out. He probably just thinks he is stronger becuase he is not thinking striaght. Ya he knows that, hes like mental power is hell of strong (and i agree with him) and that mental power gives him the ability to lift more. I think it might have to do with that he thinks muscle and strength are directly related and since he can lift more, he thinks he can gain more muscle. I tried telling him that u could gain a lot of strength and no or very little muscle, and the vice-versa gain a lot of muscle but no or very little strength. He again got me stuck then with another question: "If you gain no muscle but you gain strength, then where did the strength come from physically. Hes like if ur muscle didnt get bigger, or no fat gain or any mass gain at all then where did the strength come from." And i got stuck and replied i dunno.

I wouldn't really worry about it. If anything he's just not gonna get as good of a workout as he normally would, his bad.

man, i cant work out high, and quite frankly i dont see how that makes you stronger. i did it once, and i have to say, i was lifting lighter. it sucked. my mind was somewhere else and not focusing on lifting. but hey if it works for him, more power to him!!! and when i worked out back one day drunk at a friends house, and i was lifting more lol. but thats not a good combo, i puked my face off afterwards. oh yeah i forgot, im currently taking SP 250 and i smoked about 4 hours after my workout and the pump started coming back. it was weird, my muscles were tight as **** especially my arms.

the only setback i can think of is not having the drive, i have worked out high, call me an idiot if you want i could honestly give a ****. i'd rather work out before smoking because nothing beats a nice stuffed blunt, and a whopping turkey sandwich right after a good workout :). very relaxing. and if hes taking it for his leg/ knee sprain, get off his back, its better than having someone close to you get addicted to something such as codeine or oxycotton(however you spell it).

ive never tried that, but i could speculate points both ways: -your mind can become very focused on one thing, so if its on lifting it can be possibly aid you a tad (tho you can focus without it just as well) - if its not focus on lifting, its pointless, as youll not have a good workout -it depends on the pot ur smoking too, some will relax you, sedate you, make you laugh more, etc. -if you smoke a lot, youre risking a lot afterwards/later in the day/nite - help you relax -increase appetite - help you sleep - increase blood flow that said, i dont plan on ever working out stoned, i think it's too dangerous and not worth any element of risk taht it poses. on the other hand, i smoke quite often and enjoy it as a way to relax, etc.
bulking/strength training soon to begin bill starr's 5X5 current maxes: squats: 255 deadlifts: 300 bench: 185 oh press: 125 goals for jan 1: squats: 300 deadlifts: 350 bench: 210 oh pressL 145

I workout while getting stoned. It lets me tune out all outside distractions and focus on building muscle and pushing harder. Also when I do push ups I can often tune out the pain better and thus do more push ups. But I smoke solely in the privacy of my own own. If I were a gym member I probably wouldn't incorporate cannabis into my daily routine so much. I don't think it would help me tune into the workout by thinking that everyone is staring at me. !

when i smoke weed i feel confident and i feel great, i smoke sometimes before soccer games and i kill. I feel like i can make the greatest tackles when i'm stoned. I've never tried it before working out but i think for me it would make me more confident so i think i'd lift more weight... Alot of the **** in the gym is mentality.

Does not matter how old a thread is.. people ask about what to eat and bulk up every year, every week. So the question is always valid here. Besides, I'd rather the conversation continue here than to add another thread.

From personal experience working out stoned is not the way to go, but if I smoke a just LITTLE and take some superpump i can hit the gym hard. The weed relaxes me and the superpump gives me energy. To me it is the perfect mix. On an off day I like to blaze, go to the gym to stretch, then hit the sauna just my 2 cents

bulkingup HEY Some of the best workouts I ever Had were while I was Stoned(back in the day) I think it was because you're high, and you don't realize how much damage you're doing.... You are reading my mind today!!! I dont like to be super stoned but when im coming off a high I wreck the weight room but I dont do it too often b/c Im pretty good sober too. lol BTW smoking weed speeds up your heart rates thus we hear distorted sounds and so on. Thats why your feelings are so sensitive b/c your body is pretty much in hyperspeed and your sensations are as well.
