Ok im 5'11" 190 soph and im hoping to get into the starting d-line rotation and i was wondering if i could get some ideas on some work outs to get me a quicker get off time I will be in a 2 point stance like another linebacker but will be rushing all the time outside the tackle at an angle. I bench 235 but am not the fastest guy in the world so i need help .

plyos will work the best. Find a big hill and run up it several times will help build explosion. Since you are starting from a two point stance i would getting your team WR coach to teach you the proper explosion off the ball technique. I could try to explain it if you want but its hard without video or being in person. Drills that will help, are box jumps, squat jumps, cone drills, Under/over hurdles, speed hurdle drills(or tires or the wire latter if that is what your team uses). Really though i think just learning the proper technique will help you the best, technique can make slow players have good initial explosion.

Very short sprints, do alot of 10 yard sprints, get in better shape, work on technique, stay low.
Goals by end of 2009: Bench 205 Squat 255 ATG Squat Clean 185 "There is no elevator to success, you must take the stairs."
