Hey everyone, I read the other day how Ronnie Coleman gained like ten pounds of muscle in one year. I'm not going to pretend I come close to his intensity, let alone the fact that he's juicing one way or another...my question is this...How many pounds of muscle am I likely to gain a year if I use proper routines and diet? Since I haven't been through a year-long routine yet, I'm curious as to the gains people in this forum are experiencing annually. I use creatine, get plenty of protein, and eat the right foods. I've been doing it for a couple of months and it's working. I have definitely gained muscle weight, though I wouldn't put it past two to three pounds.

I started 3 years ago weighing about 150lbs and now I'm around 200lbs. Of course the gains are fastest at the start and then slow down as you progress.

Wow, maybe I've gained more than I thought...in two months I've picked up ten total pounds, but I know it isn't all muscle. Maybe closer to five though...

since school started this year I've gained 12 pounds, and I've been lifting for 3 years. All of that weight was gained before April. I seem to be stuck at 152.

Thanks guys, I guess I just didn't take into consideration how quickly the new workout body responds to progressive overload.

Patience is definitely a necessary thing when it comes to gains, even with the rate at which you gain muscle initially- Even though you can put on quite a bit in your first year, we still tend to get people here who want results in a few weeks- Sometimes without the necessary training, eating and rest plans. Coletrane, I know you mentioned you eat right, but are you sure you're eating to your potential? How many calories are you getting every day, and how many do you actually need?
