My Current Back Routine constists of:
Deadlifts 5x6
Bent Over Rows 3x8
Close Grip Lat pulldowns 3x8

Would this group of exercise maximize the Widening of the Lats.  I am most concerned with the Bent Over Rows.

lol well deadlifts are soposed to be only working the legs so...i wouldnt do that anymore inless you wont to build your lowerbody the bent over rows look good. also the close grip lat pulldowns work your tris a little more then lats. Try doing a wide grip and pull back a little not totally stright now.

I'm not sure how long you're been working out Agent orange.  Deads IMO, are key to gaining size.  So those to me are a keeper.  They are not a leg exercise unless your doing Stiff Legged Deads.  As for widening the lats, as you say, do regular pull-ups, then do more pull-ups.  Nothing is going to hit the lats like regular old pull-ups.  Wide grip, as wide as you can.  You can keep the rows in there too.

If you're priority is widening the lats, I would do:
Pull-ups  3 -4 sets with BW to failure .. if you can get to 10 reps on all 4 sets, add weights.
Deads 5 x 5
BB Rows 3 x 10

That's it .. plain and simple.

when you say pull ups, you mean chin ups?

I seem to be good at chin ups...though i think i use my arms more than my lats lol

If you're doing an underhand grip (fingers curl in towards your face) then you're doing alot of work with the biceps. A wide overhand grip is what you want for back work.

V-Shape Workout

It's pretty much all out the V in this workout.  And FYI it was hard.  Very hard.  I don't recommend this to a beginner.  But if you have considerable training experience and can only rest 30-45 seconds between exercises... then for it!

A1 and A2 is an example of:

Do the set and exercise listed in A1 then immediately go to A2.

Rest 30-45 seconds.

Repeat for the listed sets.

Move on to B whatever.

Anything that goes Alpha 1 and then another number is a superset.
