These are really helpful. The more the meals are planned, the better the results. Unfortunately, there are some circumstances where it is really hard to plan meals like when going out at malls. What can you say about that?

If someone has gone through the process of planning meals and actually taking time to make the plate of food and look at the plate of food (I have had clients photograph meals so they know what the ideal looks like)..then in their mind they have a real sense of what the ideal portion sizes are for them, and they can choose foods that are close to that.

There is plenty that someone can eat, but it gets tricky if you really don't know what choices are best.  I try to have people plan meals with worst case scenarios so when one happens, they know what to fall back on.

For me, I always try to have a meal or meal replacement handy, but that is not always what happens.

I ended up out for 6 hours today when I planned to be out for 2.  I had nothing with me and my crew had to stop for a meal.  I chose sole, roasted potatoes, and brussel sprouts with carrots and almonds.  It looked allot like a meal I might prepare.  It was more salty...and a bit more rich.  I ate slightly smaller portions knowing there were lots of hidden calories.

When I could, I had a nice tight meal.  A salad with chicken...
