hmm. i'm complete opposite i guess. i just started doing deadlifts though.. so i'm taking it nice and slowly with light weight so i don't screw up my back. on the other hand... my bench has usually been exceptionally well as of lately. stuck right around the 300 mark for now.. but at 186 lbs... i think that's enough

well it'll definitey be good for acclimating to heavier weights. its really good since u havent done it before u'll be starting off with lighter weight and high reps and progressively getting heavier

ORIGINAL: twistedlink Yeah HST rocks youll get both mass and strength gains from it. My chest doesnt grow much, it also rarely gets stronger. 300lbs at 186lbs is extra ordinary, never seen someone that light do that kind of weight before, well actually, at my gym the max ive seen was 315lbs by a 250lbs guy, running up 2nd is 285lbs for 4 reps and hes 6'4" 230lbs ish. coming up 3rd is the 245lbs region, again by someone whos 200lbs+ so yeah, 186lbs for 300lbs isnt anything to sniff at eh.. i wasn't crying about it. i just feel stuck is all. hence the reason i switched up my routine from full isolation to HST. and it's awesome. thx for the compliment btw... i have trained very hard for the last 6 years. so it's not like i'm a freak of nature or anything. just took lots of hard work

ORIGINAL: twistedlink Yeah HST rocks youll get both mass and strength gains from it. My chest doesnt grow much, it also rarely gets stronger. Ive done a few routines (such as IBB's) and they do work, the thing is my strength depletes easily, my chest seems to need constant attention to maintain strength, and im definitely not overtraining it, ive gone from both ends of the spectrum and done in the middle too, all methods work, its just the problem of making the strength permanent, i also seem to have the unlucky trait that when i do start a new routine on chest, and it works-i get a minor injury meaning i have to go light or none at all for the next 2 weeks to make sure the injury doesnt worsen. 300lbs at 186lbs is extra ordinary, never seen someone that light do that kind of weight before, well actually, at my gym the max ive seen was 315lbs by a 250lbs guy, running up 2nd is 285lbs for 4 reps and hes 6'4" 230lbs ish. coming up 3rd is the 245lbs region, again by someone whos 200lbs+ so yeah, 186lbs for 300lbs isnt anything to sniff at I had some 165lb guys make me feel like **** putting up 315 lol. Man twisted they really don't have many strong guys where you are.
