Which is better?

For the past couple months I have been doing (more or less) Smoundzou's 3 day full body workout that he posted 3 days per week: Squats Bench Press Bent Over Rows Shoulder Press Crunches 3x8-12 for each exercize, but 3x15-20 for crunches, resting 1-1.5 minutes in between sets. I have made some strength gains, but it gets boring doing the same routine over and over again every day. I thought about doing an alternative workout on the 2nd day of the week, but I have limited equipment, so the best I could come up with was: Deadlift Bench (or maybe some kind of pushups? probably not enough work though) One Arm dumbell rows Arnolds or sitting shoulder press Crunches I could do that for variety sake I suppose, but it doesn't seem like as "serious" a workout as the first one. Another choice would be to follow another kind of split that I read, where I breakdown the muscles further, and do kind of an upper/lower body split, 3 days a week: day1: chest shoulders triceps day2: legs back biceps And then I would alternate that every time I worked out, which would maybe let me hit the bodyparts a little harder and not be doing the exact same workout every time haha. Any ideas???

Routine is fine... What are your goals? I would switch that rep range up for compounds I would prefer 3 sets of 4-6 reps and for isolations I would do 2 sets of 6-8 reps...

Which routine is fine? the 1st one or the 2nd one? haha My goal is to gain a little muscle, but not a TON...I'm 5'11 165 so I'm pretty lean to begin with...I just want to look a little "harder" and get more in shape. When I was a teenager (I am 29 now), I really wanted to gain weight cause I had the metabolism of a humming bird. I guess my metabolism is still pretty darn fast, but I guess I have accepted the fact that I am just small framed or whatever. Still, I have always enjoyed working out and wanted to see if one routine was better than the other, to keep myself from getting bored!
