Which one is better to take if I workout within an hour or two of going to bed?

Whey isolate always after you workout, Cassein 15 to 20 min. before bed from my personal experience.

Yes, Whey is absorbed faster so is ideal straight after a workout. And casein protein is great before bed to stop muscle breakdown during your sleep, because its digested slower than whey protein.
