Gym,

easy access to a wide arrange of dumbbells, power racks, bench's...I never use the machines so meh.

I like the atmosphere of other lifters as well, even though I usually lift "alone"

Yeah.
I tried working out at home but I just wasn't motivated enough
In the gym, the only thing I can do is workout and thats what I came there for so I have too.
And yeah it is sometimes annoying when its crowded or there are obnoxious people having conversations without actually doing their workout or talking on their cell.

At home, because with dual displays, I can look at my desktop and remeber why I want a strong and enduring body. I can also huff and grunt without people asking me to stop, privacy and ease of access is also a plus.
I can also do my body weight movements without people wondering what I'm doing...

I want a home gym, haha.

I lift at a gym cause I don't have any equipment at home.

If I did have a power rack, bench, and weights with a mat underneath, I could do most of my routine. I'd just need a dippng station and a pullup bar, and then I'd lift at home because of convenience, privacy, and EASY access to food right when I finish.

However, my mom would hate it since she gets scared after you do anything 100+ pounds

be careful with the wielder (sp?) brand...the way they adjust is just bad mechanics.

I bought a set for my dad 300 bucks for last Christmas. And we ended up taking them back because not only was it a hassle to change the weight at times, it would get stuck. But it wouldnt always lock all the way and the plates would drop out...

At a gym.

I don't feel the need to invest that much money on training equipment. All I have at home is a pullup bar which can be easily installed in a door frame.

It would be cool to have a home gym, but I think I can get to know more people in the gym. Not that I talk so much when I lift, I socialize with them after lifting.

as far as money goes a home gym would be much cheaper in the long run

i prefer a gym, you always have someone to spot you if you need it, many many more things you can do at a gym too, such as machines (they have their place so shove it lol), and specialization benches ect.
