Hey folks, Right now, I take my daily serving of Creatine in the morning, at the same time as when I take my Multi-Vitamin, and my Ripped Fuel... Is this ok? Or should I take the Creatine directly before or after my evening workout? Also, should I continue to take my 100% Whey Protein shake even on my rest days? Right now I just take it directly after my daily workout, but I' m wondering if taking it on my rest days would help out not. Thanks in advance...

Hey! From what i know, you should take creatine directly after u wakeup and then wait 30-60min till you have your breakfast. And immediatly after workout then wait 30 min and take the whey. ' Please correct me if I´m wrong, because after you wake up and after workout your creatine levels should be the lowest.

As far as the protein powder goes, you can use it anytime. I use it every day, whether I workout or not. Think of it as a food that you eat that lets you get your daily protein requirements and less as a supplement. The day after a workout is just as important for growth purposes as the day of a workout, so to speed recovery I would lean towards taking protein supplements all the time.

Hello. Well first off I hate to tell you but you wasted money on the TwinLabs Ripped Fuel. It is just a fancy zinc supplement and, as most will tell you here, is only effective for someone defficient in zinc and/or magnesium (in other words, next time I would spend money on fish oil or something more useful). I personally took the stuff for about a month and a half and saw absolutely no change between when I was on it and when I was off... luckily I didn' t pay anything for it. Now on to your question. If you are loading, it doesn' t matter when you take each dose as long as it is spread fairly evenly throughout the day and you make sure to take one dose before and one dose after you workout. When maintaining, I think most would agree you should take a dose right before and right after you workout with simple carbs (dextrose is best). As for your protein, you really should take some before you workout as well. And as far as taking it on off days, that really depends on how much protein you are getting on those off days. In other words, if you are getting the amount you want every 3 hours or so from food, then ignore the protein shakes, but if not, use them to compensate for any holes in the diet. For a good article on why you should take carbs/protein/creatine pre and post WO and how much I would recommend http://www.avantlabs.com/magmain.php?issueID=5&pageID=66 That, at least, is my 2 cents. Anyone wish to critique/tweak this advice? Hope that helps, Bryan

Fish oil? What' s that? What does it do? And what' s dextrose? Sorry, I' m a bit new to the body building scene. I' m already done with the loading stage of Creatine, so I was just taking 5g every morning after I woke up. I guess I' ll change that up a bit... mda1125: Do they sell Casein protein at GNC? You said you take Protein shakes 3x a day, is there any possibility of me gaining weight from fat on my rest days if I do this? I' m just curious, because I' m a 21y/o male, 5' 10" , and I weigh about 160lbs. I don' t want to gain weight in fat, I want it all in lean muscle mass. Thanks again folks...

Well, fish oil is just that... fish oil. It is a pretty common supplement that provides omega-3 and omega-6 " good" fats, and comes in either pill form or liquid form. Can find it at your local wal-mart or anywhere else that carries basic supp.' s. It has many benefits for both overall health and for bodybuilding. It' s sort of a " no brainer" supplement (there are precious few of those), along with creatine and whey. As far as dextrose, it is a simple carbohydrate that you take before and after workout for many beneficial reasons, all of which are listed in that article I mentioned above (very good article, should read). Oh, and did I mention it is very cheap? Another " no brainer" supplement, I suppose. Basically if you want to do things right, buy some dextrose and take about 30g mixed with 2.5g of creatine before your workout, then take about 60-70g mixed with another 2.5 of creatine after your workout, along with some fish oil, and, of course, whey. As far as GNC carrying casein, they do if they carry Met-RX which is a casein blend. But GNC is also quite pricey when compared with its online peers. Last, yes protein can make you fat, like any food, but not if you replace carb/fat with it. Basically, if you take it in place of another food (like in the morning take it instead of toast, for example) it will not cause your calorie count to rise. Also, whey shakes are usually quite low in calories so I wouldn' t worry much more about the high fructose foods you consume than your whey shake. -Bryan

Please don' t forget Lean Protein powder has micellar casein, which is why it is a sustained action formula or otherwise known as time released protein. It seems like since SportPharma came out with theirs, other companies like ISS, Iron Tek and Prolab are jumping on board with the micellar casein proteins.
