Thanks to WDNinABQ for this question: Q: What's the difference between creatine monohydrate and products like V12 and Swole? My Answer: A simple creatine monohydrate product includes some differences from products like V12 and Swole only in the method of transporting the creatine to the muscles. Pure creatine monohydrate can be taken with water. But that’s not the most efficient means of transporting it to the bloodstream. To increase the amount of creatine absorbed, it’s suggested you take it with a juice compound. Better yet, take your creatine with dextrose so that insulin levels are temporarily high, allowing more creatine to be absorbed. V12 and Swole and other type creatine products are the enhanced transport mechanism. Not only do they provide a complete package for spiking the insulin but some have other ingredients like Taurine that has been shown to enhance the absorption effects of creatine. Bodybuilding is a sport about making the most out of training, nutrition and supplementation. By providing a transport system, the manufacture is simply providing the insulin spikes and complete packages in one tiny scoop. Products that include such a transport are thought to be more efficient at getting the creatine into the bloodstream faster with less breakdown then simply taking pure creatine monohydrate with water.
